That I'm gonna be sticking with all season is this: Ohio State vs Georgia.
I really believe Ohio State has missed a downfield passing attack under J.T. Barrett, and that dynamic will return with Dwayne Haskins......The Buckeyes always have the skill position players to compete with anyone, but they are loaded at RB, WR, and the LINES this year which is huge for Ohio State, when the Buckeyes struggle in big games it's usually do to line play.
-I've said it before and I'm more convinced after the spring game I think this is Urban Meyer's best team, after losing JT as a leader they may be overlooked a bit, but as a Buckeyes fan I always questioned JT's downfield throwing ability......his leadership was unquestioned but he was like the Tyrod Taylor of College football at throwing the ball,JT didn't take to many risk down field and he was so-so accurate when he did.
Haskins is a much more accurate passer which will enable the Buckeyes to open up the playbook more.....the Buckeyes offense this year should be the best since the '14 version, if it isn't i'll have real questions about the playcalling.
I am a Buckeye Homer, but to me it's quite apparent that there are legitimately 4 teams that are heavy favorites to win the title this year, and anyone else would be a surprise.
-My big upset in week 1 will be Washington over Auburn.....I think the Huskies travel across the countries and play for their playoff lives, knowing a Pac-12 Title won't move the needle much after the pathetic Bowl season........ I like Washington 24-21.
Alabama is going to pound Louisville in a game that will be over by halftime .....the Tide is favored by 30, and I think they cover Alabama 49 Louisville 10
-Oklahoma will be good, but losing Baker Mayfield will effect them
Texas will be good as well and could sneak into the Playoff, although I think they fall just short
My Playoff that I'm gonna stick with is as follows, and let me explain I do think Washington will be undefeated, which is why I have them seeded where I do, everyone else will have at least 1 loss
1) Washington
2) Clemson
3) Ohio State
4) Georgia
4 Georgia> 1) Washington
3) Ohio State> 2) Clemson
*I think Georgia and Alabama each stumble at some point during the regular season and have what amounts to a Play-In game for the SEC Title.....I think Georgia after coming so close is hungrier and will do whatever it takes to win.
I think the National Title is an Epic back and forth affair with the Georgia Bulldogs having their hearts ripped out again....and me having a heart attack
Ohio State 27 Georgia 23. Might be a homer pick, but I also do feel the Bucks are the most talented team going into the season.....and I also feel of those 4 teams(Bama, Clemson, Ohio State and Georgia) you could pick one from a hat and feel comfortable putting money on them this season. If it's any of the other 3 I won't be surprised......
