Here you go, cpa..the NRA GUN OF THE WEEK !! This ought to get some pretty impressive results in schools, theaters, concerts, churches, etc...don't you think ?... and it's kinda cool looking
It's manufactured by ISRAEL WEAPONRY CO, has a 30 round capacity, and is affordable at only $2000 retail. ( probably much better deals out there ) Shoots the standard 5.65MM AR style bullet.
Agree - has a cool look to it.
Have considered adding a bullpup rifle to my collection at some point...
My .308 cost me about 2,000 as well, and by the time I added optics, laser, light , grips- i'm in 4,000 territory. But, I can hunt most anything in North America with that rifle.
As you know, the 5.56 round is a pretty good varmint rifle, but not so much for really big game.
Not sure how impressive the results will be in schools, churches, etc, given that rifles like this one are rarely used in these locations, or shootings more generally.
Military units of NATO nations think the high velocity, high powered 5.56 round is perfect for killing people...not the biggest of 'game' but certainly well beyond 'varmints'. So cpa, seriously, why do American citizens need this style weaponry that the NRA is pushing weekly ?

So, the safety and security of our little suburban enclave was shattered last weekend as about 20 cars, ALL OVER THE NEIGHBORHOOD, were broken into. In one of the cars, a gun was stolen. (I have some serious concern about idiots leaving guns in cars... unlocked, no less!) So far, no home invasions.... not in our neighborhood. But, there have been some in a similar neighborhood not very far away. So, Hen... I'll ask YOU a question: What kind of arms will a person breaking into my house be carrying? Can you GUARANTEE me that it won't be anything as powerful as the weapon you're hawking for sale this week? I'd like your personal assurance that my wife's small handgun will be sufficient protection.

Nothing to do with need. Case in point, why do drivers "need" a 700hp Mustang or Corvette or Charger when the speed limit is basically 65?
The AR 15 was developed as a ranch rifle / varmint gun.
Who am I to tell people what they "need" for their personal hunting and defense needs? It's none of my business.
Shotgun for close defense and bird shooting, handgun, rifle for hunting and an AR style rifle in the event of civil unrest. Like that guy in Baltimore who as surrounded by 50 "teens"...a 6-round revolver won't last long in that type of scenario.

Pre-1986 M-16s in good condition will run you 30,000- 40,000.
MP-5s will run you 50,000.
Uzi's are 17,000-24,000.
Thompsons are 25,000.
Here's a twin .30cal mount you could setup to guard your driveway:

You really are a certified, NRA driven, gun nut, cpa. I think you should set up a .50 cal machine gun at the top of your stairs just in case some house burglars break into your place with with high capacity weaponry. Do you have kids ? Be careful with all your handguns. Some small child in Indiana just shot one off that he found in a sofa at an Igea while his parents shopped. It fell out of some well regulated militiaman's pocket between the cushions. The well regulated militia can be so careless.
BTW, ARMA-LITE developed the AR-15 style weapon in the late 1950s strictly as a military rifle. There was no 'hunting' factor at all. C'mon cpa.

What do Vietnam era M60's go for ? I volunteered to carry one of those around so I wouldn't have to walk point in my infantry squad, after the previous m60 gunner went down.

CPA Stomped all over my question for you Hen. I think, maybe you didn't see it?
So, Hen... I'll ask YOU a question: What kind of arms will a person breaking into my house be carrying?

There was an M60 sold in February of this year - $67,000.
Prior sale was $54,000.

Amazing...thanks. If I can get Mrs Hen to show me how I'll post a photo of a skinny 140 lb Hen carrying one of those things through the rice paddies about 50 years ago.

Why am I a certified, NRA driven gun nut? Because I can spend 2 minutes on google researching?
I always laugh when the press calls the AR-15 “High Powered assault rifles.”
High powered? LOL
They do not fire even an intermediate cartridge. Some states do not allow you to deer hunt with the 5.56/.223 cartridge, they require more powerful ammo.
The part about “Assault Rifle” is also comical. I can assault someone with anything, a knife, a hammer, even an ashtray. The Ar-15 is no more deadly than any other rifle and less deadly than a majority of other calibers.
Yes, I have 3 children, 2 B, 1G. All have been taught gun safety and responsible gun use and storage. I have a safe where I keep my guns. By teaching these things at an early age, you take away the "mystique" of guns and they learn properly.

Gun condition can cause some variability in the price.
