Friday night I watched an old Cary Grant movie, The Awful Truth - made in 1937, I believe. It was one of the best comedies I've every seen. Grant is married to Irene Dunn and they decide to get divorced. Both get engaged to other people and realizing they still love each other, the set about to sabotage the others upcoming nuptials. Just a great, great movie - can't believe it took me so long to watch. And I was thinking, Cary Grant may be the greatest movie star of all time - look at his body of work, simply amazing.
The other movie is a new release called, Won't You Be My Neighbor. It's a documentary about the life of Fred Rogers of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood fame; it's the best movie I've seen this year. Heartwarming - you walk out of the theater smiling and wanting to be a better person. I never really watched Mr. Rogers as kid and neither did our children but the lessons he taught were powerful and some of the clips from his shows literally brought tears of joy to my eyes. Just a great, great movie - I highly recommend it.

Cary Grant was always one of my favorite movie stars. He's hilarious.. And, elegant. Never got his deserved reward.
I did watch Mr. Rogers when I was a kid. Wasn't sure I wanted to see this movie, but... have heard several good reviews.
I saw a couple of movies on planes and theater in the past few weeks.
Oceans' 8 : Saw this with MamaBevo. Sandra Bullock is still hot. Pretty cool story. I liked these better when filmed in Vegas. A little on the slow side, but... All in all a pretty decent movie. Very classy, and old school film-making.
Jumanji II: I put off watching this for a LONG time since, the first Jumanji was just AWFUL. But, this one got so much good buzz, and stayed at our theater for SO LONG, I figured it must be OK. It was HILARIOUS! I never enjoyed watching the The Rock so much. Great story, an impressive cast, and excellent performances. Two thumbs up!
Red Sparrow: Watched this at home on my new TV. YOWZER! I saw parts of Jennifer I've never seen before. Not a great movie. But, sure was fun to watch. Better than I expected and worth a look..
Black Panther: Sorry.. I JUST DON'T GET IT! I'm not a fan of comic book movies in general. This wasn't even good for a comic book movie.
Molly's Game: Saw this awhile ago, not sure if I commented on here. AWESOME movie. Poker scenes were done well.
The Florida Project: Cute little movie. Not much of a plot really. Just portraying a couple of poor kids, having fun.. MamaBevo really liked it. I think, it hit pretty close to home about parts of her early childhood.
ITonya: Another REALLY good film. Allison Janny is a top notch actor. You know, I've really come to appreciate actors who can play TOTALLY different roles, and have you believe them... as that character.. in each one. As opposed to some (like Ben Affleck) who are, basically, the SAME character in every movie. Janny is versatile.
Hostiles: Best Western film made in a LONG time. Christian Bale is another actor who, makes you forget who he is. He just becomes the character, and you are transformed. This movie is a little slow. But, there is intense drama that builds up.. and, I suspect this may be the TRUEST depiction of what life on the frontier was REALLY like.

I saw The Florida Project and I Tonya - I Tonya was very good and while I did like The Florida Project, Moonie's mother was somewhat creepy - I doubt there will be many roles for that actress moving forward. also watched both of the Deadpool movies - actually thought #2 was better - a perfect role for Ryan Reynolds.
My brother-in-law recommended Hostiles - I'll have to look that one up.
