We are staying in Grapevine, heading there on Thursday, Sept. 13. We got an Air BandB. Pretty decent price, we’re going with some friends and plan to do the Kennedy stuff on Friday.

Heading down with a college buddy and we are taking our daughters. She is a good luck charm as she has never seen them lose which includes Michigan, Alabama, and some B10 CCG.
We got a place not to far from the Stadium and thought about heading to Ft Worth. Still trying to figure that part out.

AJ,
For you, I'll make an exception.
Dallas was not really my area, I'm more of a Houston guy. But, I can give you a couple of suggestions:
1) I know it's morbid, and "old folks history"... but, to me? the MOST interesting thing about Dallas is: It's where JFK was shot. The 6th Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza is a pretty interesting place. It tells what happened. And, it's just kind of eerie to be in a place where such a monumental world event occurred.
2) With kids, Six FLags Over Texas is a good amusement park. It's typical: Expensive, Hot... but, lots of fun rides and stuff.
3) Ft Worth Zoo is a pretty good one. I would think the girls would like it. Much cheaper than 6 Flags! ;-)
Also, be SURE to eat at Pappadeaux's restaurant, and/or Pappasitos. Both owned by the same family.... some of the best restaurants ever. They're not "cheap"... anymore.. but, also not ridiculously expensive like many places. Damn good food though.
Shame the Rangers are not in town. They have a cool stadium. I bet, you can get a tour of ATT stadium? That might be fun. It will be HOT when you go, no doubt... but, in Dallas, the humidity is low. So, chances are, it'll be 'comfortable' in the evening.
Oh.. be sure and find some good Texas BBQ somewhere... have the Brisket! Should be a million places that look good. Pick the one with a lot of cars in front! :-)
Hope you have a great trip.

I’ll second the 6th floor museum and pappasitos. Fort Worth stock yards are fun and most of the steak joints around there are good. We also did the zoo and it was great! When we went to Dealey Plaza there was a X marked on the road where Kennedy was shot - go stand there if you can and the hair on your neck will stand up

Not sure how old your daughter is? If 19+, this place might be interesting to you. www.cowboysdancehall.com/I've never been at THAT place, but... hundreds like it. (although, it's been a few years). Drinks look pricey, but... It looks like an authentic Texas country dance place to me. Just don't stay TOO late... the drunks get more aggressive after midnight. :-)

Thanks for the insight. Our daughters are both 17. I think my wife might be going as well. Some one else mentioned the ATT stadium tour was pretty cool. I am thinking either Dealey Plaza or Stadium Tour in the afternoon. Then maybe do the stock yards in Ft Worth for Dinner.

Definitely doing the Kennedy tour. Will have to see where Papasidos is in relation to Grapevine. Of course I’m always up for BBQ or a good steak!

Thanks for the insight. Our daughters are both 17. Then, you're gonna need a couple of FAKE ID's!
Probably can get them in the parking lot. Or, in a Home Depot parking lot.
There are some nice SHOPPING districts around too!
FYI>> Pappadeaux's is a seafood place with Cajun style cooking. Oddly, they have a LOT of them in and around Dallas. I think because, the chain started in Houston, as Pappasitos. They expanded to Pappa's Seafood house, then to Pappadeaux's The Cajun style has turned out to be the most popular. So, when the expanded to Dallas, I think they started with that one.
Pappasito's is a Mexican Restaurant... but, probably a bit different from most you see around Ohio. I know, there are ZERO good Mexican places in Louisville. They have fresh, homemade chips and salsa, and usually good specials, that might include seafood options as well. Oh, and FANTASTIC margaritas.... for the wife, of course. You'll be DD, and setting the good example, I'm sure. :-)
Hope ya'll have a blast. Should be a good test for the Bucs. It's basically a home game for TCU, and I can assure you... Gary Patterson has been game planning for you ALL summer.
