The Cornhuskers, if they want to ever be successful again in football, need to leave the Big 10.
But....they are making oodles of money.
They will NEVER be what they were if they stay in the Big 10. They will be a subpar plaything for the big dogs
Eventually they will have to decide if they want to be successful in football again, or reap the money...
if they want Cornhusker football to revive, they need to go independent and try and start recruiting the south. BYU had the balls to do it, and Nebraska can do it as well. Put the rest of the sports in the MVC.

Breaks my heart... seeing what's become of those whining crybabies. I sure wish Zoom were here to discuss that Troy loss.

They will never ever be successful in the Big 10, and this is why Notre Dame was smart by saying NO to the Big 10
They are isolated from good recruiting
One day the Cornhusker faithful will get creative, and they will realize the chances of some coach coming in and reviving the program are rare.
Cornhusker football does not benefit from a north-midwest conference AT ALL. All the money in the world cannot fix their situation.
They need to go INDY. Cut their losses, and admit they have made mistake after mistake in conference realignment.
BYU does it. Notre Dame does it. Nebraska can do it

All they had to do was beat Kansas, K-State and Iowa State, and make it to a one-game playoff against either Texas or Oklahoma.... But, no. They couldn't handle having to play the CCG in Dallas every year.. (in the BEST stadium in the country)…. So, they jumped to the B1G, and tried to blame Texas along the way. Now, they get their asses kicked weekly. I REJOICE in every game they lose. Bunch of corn-hole pussies.

I'll never forget Zoom GUARANTEEING us , about 45 times, that Nebraska would never ever ever leave the B12 for a better offer because he had inside info. Miss Zoom. He was quirky fun.

Nebraska grew resentful of Texas, because the Texas program flourished under the Big XII banner. Texas went from a historical program to a MAJOR premier program in the nation. Nebraska went from top dog to regional team. And now they are Big 10 backwater....not any better than freakin Indiana

In all honesty, the Big XII is probably better without Nebraska...if Nebraska wanted back in for some reason, the Big XII would get no value by adding them back in.
Nebraska has no market value, and no real academic value, and no real sports value...they have degraded that badly. Unlike a Tennessee or even a Maryland, Nebraska does not have the ingredients for success in major P5 college football.
Unless Saban decided to up and leave Alabama, and try and rebuild the program, no coach will save the Cornhuskers....
The only path is Independence, and rebuild the NATIONAL perspective of the Nebraska football. They have to recruit outside of Nebraska, and they need an easier schedule.

Could be some stark reality for UN there, Evil
It's amazing what Bob Devaney and Tom Osborne were able to do there with the built in recruiting disadvantages of that region....and Nebraska fires Solich who was pretty solid.

As I've mentioned from time to time, alliance with the BIG 10 is not all about athletics. The academic and research side is equally important - maybe more so. The University of Nebraska Medical Center has a very renowned cancer research center. When I was originally diagnosed in 2005, my doctor offered to set up an appointment with a doctor at Nebraska as this person was a leading researcher for the type of lymphoma I have. I know someone who actually went there for treatments and had amazing results. I didn't want to be treated 10 hours away from home so I decided to stay in Ohio. But to say there's no academic value - I don't think that's a fair statement.
Nebraska should have never fired Pellini but I do think Frost is a solid hire. They need to realize they'll never be the Tom Osbourne Nebraska but they should be able ot compete with the other west division teams.
