Because if it wasn't, we'd be hearing how what Alabama has done this decade is record breaking, and this 2018 team might be one of the best teams ever
Two excellent QBs, superb offense, stellar D...no weaknesses
Nebraska 1995 Miami 2001 FSU 1999 Texas 2005 Alabama 2011 Alabama 2018
one of the best ever

100% agree... Their defense looks like the 85 Bears.

The last time Bama lost to an unranked team was 2007. Since that season: Record 129-14 SEC 73-9 Finished first(including ties) in The SEC West 8 times Five SEC Championships Five National Championships
When you consider the amount of change, the number of people involved and the single constant point of continuity you begin to realize we are witnesses to a rare performance by one of the all time masters.

Seems like we don't see any analysis of the Alabama dynasty...maybe I just have missed it. It has been complete Alabama dominance this decade. I don't know who can beat this team. Wire to wire for Alabama this year?

Tell the truth: the fact that LSU had him first makes it even sweeter, doesn't it! Lol simply incredible

This is not in any way a knock on Saban..(actually a compliment) but for bigger perspective :
Nick has lost 21.6 % of all the college football games he's ever coached and 25 % of all football games ( NCAA & NFL)
His .784 career winning success rate in CF presently ranks 17th highest among 'active' NCAA coaches ( 4th among active FBS coaches )
He's an absolute 'master' CEO of an all powerful FBS program and a 'lock' Mt Rushmore recruiter, imo.
In measuring sports greatness for both coaches and teams there is 'peak value' and there is 'career' value.
Saban's current .784 career winning success rate ranks 54th, all time, among CF head coaches with at least a 10 year tenure.......and 18th highest among 'major' level CF head coaches, all time.
Custom scheduling is certainly a factor for Saban's success as it is for almost all the 'all time' most successful guys.
