The head coach that has won more college football games than anybody in the sport's history ( by far) has passed. ..and his record is not just a longevity record with a .775 success rate (just a tic behind Saban's .784). He had some unique practicing and sportsmanship ideologies. Probably my most memorable live CF game experience was the 2003 DIII national champ game in which Gagliardi beat Larry Kehres and his powerful Mt Union team in Salem, Va. Larry Kehres, of course, remains the most difficult HC to beat in CF history (.929) so the all time most wins guy vs the all time most difficult to beat guy was really really special.
