As in all other team sports championships on Earth, I trust the scoreboards at the elimination playoff game sites to provide a champion over any non playing 'systems'

The Champion is determined on the field, in a single elimination tourney. The entire regular season functions as a double-elimination tourney. Everyone starts 0-0, as equals.
Do your best not to lose a game. Lose 2 and you are out.
All played on the field.

Texas and Clemson.
Huskies go down. Almost no chance PAC affects CFP. UGA goes down, less likely 2 SEC teams in the CFP. PSU goes down. No chance B1G gets more than OSU in CFP. WV goes down.
A 12-1 Texas will get in above 13-0 UCF or an 11-1 SEC team.

Notre Dame is in South Bend, not Terra Haute. sorry.. either place is HELL, in my book. Having been to both places, they both have their problems but South Bend is worse due to their dillusional, holier than thou residents.

Assuming Clemson drops a game, Alabama and Notre Dame win out, and Michigan beats tOSU:
#1 Alabama vs. #4 Ohio State #2 Notre Dame vs. #3 Michigan

Would be interesting though to see what would happen if Texas also won out and made it to 12-1, Big 12 Champ. I think the committee would put us in over a 11-1 Ohio State.

Opinionated semi-finals can only yield opinionated finals which can only yield an opinionated champion.

Damn, and all this time I thought the participants in the playoff were determined by results of games.

We all can learn new things every day, Bevo. Learning is fun !
A mythical final four can only yield a mythical final two. A mythical final two can only yield a mythical final one.

ZERO Undefeated P5 teams have been excluded from the CFP.
It's not likely to ever happen.

I'm talking FBS teams. So you're admitting that the Dr Pepper Invitational is NOT an FBS national champ[ionship ?
