Clemson is up there...they can play with Alabama and Ohio State The dark horse? Michigan is starting to look pretty solid... UCF is not elite.
An elite team does not need 2 late scores and a 4th and 3 conversion late in the game to win a game over Memphis. And not even the Memphis of 3 years ago, that team lost some talent.
9 out of 10 times, UCF loses to any of those teams.
Memphis just pooped their pants big time - Had the ball in UCF territory and picked up a first down with :38 left. They couldn’t get lined up, then a false start. 10-second runoff makes it :18. they finally snap it at :13 and it’s a short pass inbounds with no timeouts and the clock runs out in field goal range.
All while being down 1. Ugg.

Agree 1000%. I watched the end of this game and Memphis completely blew. I particular liked the receiver who celebrated his catch with under a minute to go and the clock running.

You win 19 straight you are permitted a narrow escape now and then. By the convoluted logic ....
Bama must not be elite - couldn't even win its conference last year whose champion was beaten by UCF.
Clemson loses to Pitt and it outplayed by Syracuse for 55 minutes..can't be elite
I could cite samples for every program some of you guys perceive as elite.
Just can't pick and choose and ignore individual games to make elite arguments.
