that replay is a huge failure. I'll preface this by saying I'm kind of pulling for the Red Sox but how Altuve's drive to right field could be called anything but a home run is absolutely ludicrous. If that is how the rule is interpreted it needs to be changed. And if replay didn't show it was a home run then whats the point of wasting time reviewing plays? I don't get it - how can the assume Betts would make the catch - it would have needed to be one of the greatest catches in the history of baseball. Just a complete failure.

A glitch in the system allowed Houston to win a title last year.
MLB is working hard to correct that error.

I don't recall the glitch from last year but the Astros got screwed last night. I will say the young man from Cincinnati, Andrew Bennintendi, made an amazingly, ballsy play for the final out - if he misses that, Houston wins the game.

I have found this series hard to watch. The Astros have shot themselves in the foot repeatedly.

I don't have a rooting interest either. In fact I have watched less than 1 inning of post season baseball this year. That being said, I do think the catch would have been made if the fan did not interfere. The glove was pretty much in place and when the fan hit it, the glove was closed and the ball went by. I have no clue what fan interference is but had the fan backed off from the ball, it appears it would have been caught.

I agree that the player would have caught the ball had he not hit the fan’s hand. However, to be fan interference, the fan MUST be reaching over the wall into the field of play. He wasn’t.
The player was reaching OVER the wall.
The fans have no obligation to get out of the way. They just can’t reach over into the field.
Astros got screwed.
But, it’s Houston. They’re pretty used to it.

MLB felt sorry for Houston.
