They need to continue winning impressively. Staying ahead of Notre Dame is vital.

Man what a game.
Trevor Lawrence showed why he is the chosen one. I swear he nearly threw one pass to Georgia (the state, not the team) .
Defense completely shut down State's hi-powered passing attack.
Bama used 44 players in its blowout, and Oklahoma used 49z
Clemson used 54 players in the first quarter, and 84 for the game.
People bitch about Dabo not getting enough “style points”...

They need to continue winning impressively. Staying ahead of Notre Dame is vital. If FBS had a championship playoff "staying ahead" in opinions would have ZERO significance. Clemson would likely qualify as ACC champ or at least an at large entry. ND would likely qualify as an At Large. Both fine teams would get a shot.
Opinions shouldn't decide anything.

State sold out to stop Etienne and force Trevor Lawrence to beat them. 8 man front and put their corners on islands. Not a good strategy, Dave.
Lawrence had his best game of the season since being named the starting QB, he finished 26-39 for 308 yards, and a TD, and is getting better each and every week, Oh, and no turnovers. Just laser after laser, with complete precision, despite missing on a couple of deep balls early and an open out route to Hunter Renfrow.
Etienne still managed 3 TDs and leads FBS with 14 rushing TDs.
We couldn’t have picked a better weekend to host 5* recruits - Beautiful weather, sold out game, handing an ass beating to a top 20 team, tons of true freshmen making plays, and most importantly our fans didn’t boo our own QB.

The NCAA had about a hundred years to address this.

The NCAA addressed it about 45 years ago when it instilled on field, competition based championships for D3,D2, and D1-FCS. The FBS level post season continues to be hijacked by the cartel which wants bowl games rather than playoff games. That's what the 'B' stands for in FBS.

I agree, the NCAA’s failure to act has brought us to where we are. Should we wait for another hundred years for them to come up with a plan?

The Cartel -- The Presidents of the 65 so called 'P5' schools, the conference commissioners of the 5 so called 'P5' FB leagues + ND, Disney ( ABC & ESPN) and the big bowl executives do not want a championship. It wants an exhibition post season and there is nothing the NCAA Championships committee can do about that.

Would you have everyone wait for another hundred years?

And these are people who have no interest in monkeying with the current success of big time college football.

Disney Co ( ESPN) has absolutely nothing to do with the National Collegiate Athletic Association and the big Bowl committees and executives are not part of the NCAA either. These bowls are not NCAA administered events. You will never see an NCAA logo on the field for a PSEG.
Cartel - 'An association of businesses that works together to control production and pricing of products '....the product being the FBS level post season. And Bevo, just because the P5 club leagues are members of the NCAA it doesn't prevent them from colluding with Disney and the Bowls to hijack the FBS post season and prevent a real, fair championship playoff.
