But it may be time for Ohio State to consider letting Urban go and buying out his contract...….and we're both from Ashtabula so I don't say that lightly. Urban's actually done amazing things for Alma Matter here at St. John in Ashtabula......that said either the guys not focused completely on football, or he is simply losing his touch. I know Urban has an amazing record, but you could through Ron Zook to coach the talent amassed at Ohio State right now and he could get the Buckeyes 9-10 wins. We've had the opportunity to watch 4 games this year of a Buckeyes team coached by someone other than Urban Meyer...and in those four games the team was actually played much more disciplined and smarter under.....Ryan Day. Granted the schedule has been harder....but Minnesota and Purdue aren't exactly a murderer's row either. I'm just looking at this game tonight, and it's just bad coaching.....10+ penalties including one of the dumbest roughing the kicker penalties I've ever seen. I would say in all 4 games Ryan Day's coached this season the team actually looked more prepared to play than Urban's really in all 4 games from the outset. The Penn State game I'll give them a pass, but this is just a pathetic effort. I do wonder also how much the allegations took out of coach and if he's starting to lose the locker room due to those allegations.

Careful what you wish for .. great coaches can be elusive.
The Buckeyes defense, to me, has been suspect all year. They’ve given up a lot of big plays. Tonight, it bit them.
Sure wish I could have seen the game. :-(

Evil Vodka= NO -If they did release Meyer I would quickly put in a call to Matt Campbell at Iowa State or Chris Pederson at Washington and gage their interest. Bevo It seemed to me this year the Meyer's have gone back and with media members about the allegations through social media and on Twitter pretty much all the way until he came back. I get your point, but it just feels like in all 4 games since he's been back the team has been ill prepared to play. 10 penalties including some of the dumber ones last night and you can blame coaching. I do think the allegations affected him more than he let on

With Jim Tressel and Urban Myer we have been extremely fortunate to have 2 of the best coaches in the game that has led to Ohio State being a dominating factor in the Big 10 as well as win 2 National Titles. Urban has not had a season with more than 2 losses since he has been at Ohio State. He is a big part of the reason to why many players are attracted to Ohio State. This year he has had to deal with the Zack Smith issues as well as some significant injuries. When looking at the first 3 games of the season, they were very bad at times as well. Oregon State is horrible and move the ball on us pretty easily. Do you remember the Cooper and Bruce eras. Do you remember the Fickell year. We could easily be back at that level with the wrong guy at the helm.

There is no upgrade from Urban Meyer, whoever replaces him will most likely have less success. Having said that, he is certainly having a rough year. I think the pressures of everything that's occurred this year - especially the off the field issues - have taken their toll on him. I see this playing out one of 2 ways - Urban says fuck it, i don't need to deal with this crap anymore, move to Florida and go back to ESPN or he say's fuck you, I'm not going out like this, reenergize himself and get back to the standards he expects and we're used to. There are a lot of the so called experts who say he's done. As a competitive person I'd hope he chooses the later and comes back stronger than ever. But there's no doubt this season has taken a toll on him.
