Minnesota Gophers head coach, Jerry Kill, has announced his retirement due to health reasons. This is sad for a variety of reasons. First, Kill is a cancer survivor and having been down that road myself, I know the strength, courage and determination it takes to come all the way back from fighting that disease. Secondly, he's battled seizures since 2005 and has actually had episodes on the sidelines and at halftime of Gopher games. Finally, he is very respected and loved in the coaching circle - he's an underdog who has worked his way up to a Big Ten job and it's sad that he has to call it a career at 54.
The Gophers play the TSUN on Saturday - hopefully they'll be sky high emotionally and go out and win one for Coach Kill.

Wish all big time CF coaches could be like coach Kill.........and beyond the 'class' he was also one of the very best 'most with the least guys' out there.
