So the story that dominated ESPN and all the sports pages was resolved yesterday. Zach Smith took a plea deal...this is what ESPN had on their college football page...
Smith pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct in exchange for the dismissal of a criminal trespassing charge. A judge in Delaware County, Ohio, ordered him to pay $289 in fines and court fees associated with the case, according to court records. Courtney Smith, Zach's ex-wife, told ESPN that a judge also awarded her a three-year protection order as part of the resolution.
So Smith lost his job, Urban Meyer and Gene Smith were suspended, reputations seriously damaged, reporters across the country distorted the truth - hell they didn't even try to find the truth - and in the end a guy who's life was basically destroyed is allowed to make a plea deal which cost him $289. He also can't be near his ex-wife for 3 years which I'm sure you won't hear him complain about. If he really had abused his ex-wife do you think she would have allowed him to get off this easily? What a joke - Meyer and OSU gets dragged through this crap since August - headlines on ESPN every day - and the result is a $289 fine. This crap cost Zach Smith a $350,000 a year job. Just ridiculous how the media ate up everything Courtney Smith had to say and tryed to destroy Urban Meyer.

If this happened at a high level SEC FB program, let's say Alabama for example, don't you suspect ESPN's commentary would be minimal and toned way down ?

I really don't know - ESPN certainly tends to cater to the SEC which is their prerogative. The Urban Meyer/Ohio State situation was a modern day witch (or warlock) hunt led by media members who have no idea what journalistic credibility means. They all should be held just as accountable as Zach Smith was because they brought shame to their profession.

Similar things are happening to men all over the country every day. Men are being destroyed in divorce courts. Society has deemed women always in the right and men always in the wrong. I wish this was a sports story because it would be finished. Sadly, it will happen again tomorrow. Suicides during divorce run about 4 to 1 with men killing themselves at an alarming rate once they realize they have lost everything. Society doesn't seem worried about men committing suicide.
The worst part is it will happen again tomorrow, only quietly.

I have a story you wouldn't believe but it was told to me in confidence by one of the donors I work with in my job. Great guy who remarried and almost immediately realized he'd made a big mistake. What he went through was brutal.

What he went through was brutal. In Game Of Thrones they would say winter is coming. If this ain’t winter, I’m worried. Hero and I know if of a guy who was a straight up nice guy.. engineer, good job, never a trouble maker of any kind. His wife got addicted to amphetamines and lost her damn mind. She had an affair with another woman, and tried to move all his stuff and take his two young kids without telling him... while he was at work, on the Wednesday of a week where there were scheduled to go skiing in Colorado. He sued for custody. Managed only to get stuck with VERY high child support, alimony, and visitation rights. 4 years later, he managed to get joint custody. But the witch still had primary custody.

I see a number of trends converging which will fracture the relationship between men and women for perhaps forever.

By the Zach Smith and his wacko wife also BOTH signed an agreement stating there was no domestic violence. Smith called out Brett McMurphy on Twitter and challenged him to do a face to face, one on one interview and surprisingly, it’s been crickets. McMurphy, Finebaum, Brennan, Dodd and all the other reporters who piled on Ohio State and Meyer don’t deserve employment if you ask me. Embarrassing.

He condemned Urban relying only on McMurphy who time and time again said he was dead on and 100% credible. I guess the fact that he falsely report the arrest and conviction didn't matter. I still feel like the OSU President threw Urban under the bus. If I was Urban I would have very disappointed in the fact that the President showed very little support. Screw the media. This lynching reminds me of the political piling on. I don't give the Bozo's the time of day anymore.

He was very passionate about his take on Urban and said the University should terminate him immediately. This is the same guy that waa the headed up bounty gate at New Orleans paying bonuses for intentially injuring opposing QB's. Shouldn't ESPN do the right thing and terminate him because what he did was far worse than what Urban did.

IF these Bozos were EVER held accountable there would be a change in the “RUSH TO JUDGEMENT” style. Before they are even questioned they will be on to try and destroy another career. Some coaches give reporters a hard time on occasion. I am not bothered a bit when I see it happen. I have seen their crybaby attitude when a coach calls them out...boohoo. I have very little respect for the lot of them.
