Seems to be lots of confusion on where the teams will play.
Assuming no chaos and an OU win...
Bama vs. OU
Clem vs. ND
Which game is played where?

The #1 team gets the most beneficial location.

765 miles from Tuscaloosa to the Orange Bowl (11 hour 45 minute drive; 605 miles to the Cotton Bowl (9 hour drive).
Thus the Cotton seems like a more likely destination. Additionally, if Clemson is #2, the Orange is more attractive to them.
I would say Alabama would head to the Cotton and Clemson to the Orange.

I'm hearing that Saban may want Miami, depending on opponent.
ND has a large national following and he may want Clemson (and possibly Oklahoma) to travel more.
Clemson would be the home team against the Irish in Dallas, if it goes that way.

Alabama to the Orange, Cotton Bowl is too close for Oklahoma and would give them an advantage for their fan base. If OSU sneaks in it would be the Cotton Bowl - Buckeyes have never lost in the state of Texas!😉

Saban doesn't get a say. The committee is tasked with picking the sites, based, primarily, on fans of the #1 team getting the shorter travel.
