In preparation for the PAC 12 title game, I'm going to create a thread stating that the conference should be POACHED IMMEDIATELY!!!
Another article came out recently about how the PAC 12 has problems and the perception is that they are the conference (not the ACC or Big XII) that may actually start falling behind in the major P5 arms race. I will link this article here!

The PAC 12 seems disadvantaged to me heading into the playoffs every year. They don't have a team that carries the flag for the conference. USC has been trying to be that team, but they haven't made it back to the top of the mountain. Washington is close to being that team. The conference is a freaking HARD conference to win, they don't have many easy wins. If you have 9 full games against teams like Stanford, Washington, Oregon, Colorado, USC, Utah, you can get bogged down quick! Where are the easy wins? Where is the Vanderbilt? Where is Wake Forest? Rutgers? Tennessee? Nebraska?
I think they lose out in the National Perspective of football strength, even though they are actually a decent conference. How many years will go by before they are lagging in $$, exposure, and playoff appearances behind the other conferences.
In this environment, the Big XII would be smart and proactive by beginning talks with UCLA, and maybe one other, like Washington.
The Big XII, which has teetered on oblivion a few times and seen several members leave for greener pastures, has actually endured pretty well. Oklahoma and Texas have kept the conference going and have managed to create a championship game without even having to add teams. If a team like UCLA (or maybe even USC) wanted a bigger national presence without being stuck in the low-fan Pacific region, they could jump on board with the Big XII and immediately create a buzz and probably start making more $$$.
If this happened, how long before the B1G came knocking to throw a lifeline to Cal, USC and Stanford. Maybe even Colorado too.
The evisceration could be a real thing if just 1 team bolts. We could eventually end up in the P4 that everyone predicted for so many years.
So ya, the Big XII should read that Rick Neuhesial article written a few years ago:
