1) Clemson - They are so far ahead of the Pack in the ACC that they have pretty much lapped the field. Unless Lawrence gets injured this one can be inked in. 2) Bama - Not a shoe in but with Tua they are better then the rest of the Pack in the SEC. UGA is a close second with Frohm but Bama still owns them until we see otherwise 3) Oklahoma - Hurts does have to be great, he just needs to be good. B12 has Texas and Iowa St as the only ranked opponents on the schedule. Houston may be a tricky one but once Hurts has a few starts and is more comfortable with offense I don't see anyone stopping them. 4) Washington - Anytime you have a coach like Peterson and a highly touted transfer enters the program with Eason at QB you can expect good things to happen. The 2 toughest games are against Utah and Oregon and both are at home.
The Big 10 has half of their teams ranked in the top 25 and Buckeyes get 3 crossovers against Northwestern, Wiscy, and Nebraska who are all ranked in either coaches or AP. I see the league eating themselves again this year and will once again miss the MCFP.
Notre Dame has ttun and UGA. I don't see them beating both of them and will likely drop both. They get one blemish and they are done.

I am getting gut feelings about Georgia...I wonder if this is the year they finally break through
The Big 10 looks incredibly competitive this year

ESPN is already lobbying for 2 SEC teams in the MCFP...and usually gets what it wants. It's hard to imagine that the B10 champion will not be permitted to compete for a MCFP title in 4 consecutive seasons but so goes the system.

My goal is to watch as little of the talking heads as I can. I'm sure that Pollack already has UGA, BAMA, and Clemson inked in and has already lobbying about the mediocrity of the Big 10.

Then LSU, BAMA, and aTM all win out with a round robin loss. Then UGA runs the table and loses in the CCG they will have 4 1 loss teams and all go.

I only make 1 prediction in pre-season - Ohio State will go 15-0.

Yeah, Hero, only two so far and Alabama gets a bye....and you're right - I do shamelessly watch too much of that ESPN talking head crap but acknowledge how powerful that network is in shaping who does and does not get to participate in its MCFP event.

acknowledge how powerful that network is in shaping who does and does not get to participate in its MCFP event. So... just as a thought experiment: Suppose ESPN talking heads were hyping up and talking about teams that ACTUALLY WERE the "best" teams... and, then.. those teams were selected to the CFP by the committee? Would you still stay the selections were dictated by ESPN? How would that look any different from what actually happens?

That whole concept of 'best' teams is another opinionated can of worms, Bevo. If the B10 was ESPN's primary showcase conference the ESPN talking heads would be lobbying for and talking about the B10 'best teams'... Only one way to prove a genuine national champion - A genuine championship playoff ( for all). Got to let 'em actually play football and eliminate each other, like all other team sports on Earth...not elimination by opinions.
Bottom line, IMO. : A PROVEN champion is more legitimate than a GUESSED AT best team.

How can you have 5 so-called power conferences where each one could potentially have an undefeated champ that would not get an invitation. We all no for certain that the ACC and SEC would not be left out.
The Big10 was the only conference that could build their own Network and survive. Now it directly competes against ESPN and is doing very well. ESPN wants to crush the B10 Network and one way of doing is to portray the conference as mediocre.

Lol. Now, the committee is biased toward the ACC?
Too funny.
I thought Clemson earned their spots.
