Trying to find the good matchups...
Clemson vs. Syracuse? Meh...the Orange will play tough but Clemson is too much
Ohio State vs. Indiana? Ditto
USC vs. BYU could be interesting
UCF hosts Stanford
Hawaii plays Washington
TCU vs. Purdue....might be a sleeper
Alabama vs. South Carolina...some real SEC action or a blowout?
that's sort of it... No real heavyweight bouts

Trying to find the good matchups... UCF hosts Stanford That's going to be an interesting game. If UCF puts a big number on the trees, they're going to start being hard to ignore.

USC vs. BYU could be interesting I know they're considered an independent now but you have to hand it to BYU coming out of the gate....
Utah Tennessee (who knew they'd be such a trainwreck) USC Washington next week
Boise State in early October
The back end of their schedule is light but that's pretty solid to start the season.
Of course most of BYU's players are in their late 20's, have 3 kids and spent several years after their high school graduations in places like Uganda and Mongolia so they are a bit more mature and able to handle such a gauntlet.

These seemingly "quiet" weekends have provided some unexpected fireworks:
2016
#2 Clemson loses to Pitt #3 Mich loses to IA #4 Wash loses to USC #9 Aub loses to GA
2017 week 5
#2Clem loses to SYR #5 Was loses to AZST #8 Wash St loses to Cal #10 Aub loses to lSU
This weeks key games, in my opinion:
UNC @ Wake in a non-conference matchup Friday night. If UNC wins this they are likely 5-0 when Clemson goes to CH.
Saturday early games - NCST v. WVU or tOSUv. IN
Mid afternnon - Bama v. UofSC - Gamecock players guaranteeing a win - this will not end well for them. Is Hilinski the QB of the future in Columbia? We'll know by 4-415 saturday
IA v. IAST - arguably a better game than BAMA v. SC, and Gameday is in town.
Night games - Clem v. Syr - I expect the outcome to be the same as when Clemson previously had a QB start and finish this game, 54-0. Was the Syr/MD game a fluke?
FSU / UVA: Is FSU a dumpster fire? Is UVA any good?
Pitt/PSU, TCU/PUR, KST MSST some other notable games around the channels this weekend

I think Iowa/Iowa State should be a good game and Gameday agrees - the crowd could be a huge boost for the Cyclones. Iowa has a pretty solid team this year but you never know what may happen in those in-state rivalries.

So where will the Dr Pepper trophy be this week ? Not sure.... Maybe, it stays at home... at Clemson?
I'm just glad they recovered it from Les Miles. Remember? He stole it last year.
