Conference Breakdown
OOC VP5 VG5 FCS
B12 (26-7) (6-4) (11-3) (9-0)
BIG (31 - 9) (4-6) (23-3) (4-0) P10 (26-10) (6-3) (12-7) (8-0)
SEC (28-12) (5-6) (15-6) (9-0) ACC (35-11) (4-6) (22-4) (9-1)
Just a few takeaways from this weekend
tOSU is looking extremely good although against lesser opponents. In previous years though they would have struggled to wins against teams like UC and Inidiana but not the case this year. They have Nebraska this weekend and it will be my first trip into Huskerville.
Nice win for UGA but they did not look like world beaters. ND got waxed in the CFP last year and struggled for most of the game against a not very good Louisville team.
Texas gets a nice win over undefeated otherOSU gets Texas Closer to the national spotlight. WVU stands between them and the showdown against OU in Dallas. BTW, I will be in Morgantown cheering with the Horns down crowd.
Burrow continues to put up Heisman like numbers but Vandy was able to put 38 points which is another reason to question there defense.
In my opinion, Wisconsin has put up the most complete dominating performance this season with its dismantling of ttun. There running game is dominating and thus far the passing game seems to complement it well. Why pass then you can get 9 yards per run.
Auburn handles aTm relatively easily. Not really sure how big this win is as aTm's biggest win this season is vs Texas St.
Now to the rankings: Can someone please explain to me why aTm is ranked number 22 with 2 losses. Both were only marginally competitive and there best win was against a team outside of the top 100???
5 SEC teams in the top 9??? I get the first 4 but Florida??? Close wins against not so good UK and Miami. Undefeated Kansas St just beat Miss St and undefeated Cal has beat UW and Ole Miss. Both should be ahead of Florida and there is absolutely no reason either should be behind aTm.
Wisconsin is only 8th after what they have done this year. Oh yea, now I remember, when one B1G team beats the other it is because the other team was not that good in the first place.
My new fully biased top 10 is as follows. 1 Clemson - Still giving them credit for the domination of aTm 2 tOSU - To me they look that good 3 Wisconsin - most dominating performance of the season 4 LSU - Although the defense looks suspect Burrows looks super human 5 Bama - They have looked sluggish early on but have had all games under control when half 2 rolls around
6 Oklahoma - Hurts has looked great, we will see how there defense holds up 8 UGA - I don't see a dominating team with killer instinct
9 Cal - 2 good wins against Ole Miss and UW 10 Kansas St - Handing Miss St its only loss on the road is enough for me.

I think the top 8 (top 7??) are generally pretty accurate.
Texas A&M still ranked is a joke

Ooops Guess I forgot one.

I would agree that the top 8 are pretty close and can be swapped around based on what you see as important. Those are the 8 teams that control their own destination as well for a MCFP spot.

Michigan looks to be an absolute mess. The Army near loss and then the ass-whipping by Wisconsin coming off a bye week. Who knows how impressive that win truly is for the Badgers. On the other hand they've only allowed 2 TD's all season and both of them were garbage scores - they completely manhandled Michigan, not a good look at all. They may not give up anymore points till they play the Buckeyes on October 26 in Columbus.
OSU has only given up 3 TD's and only one was in the first half with a 38-3 lead - on a flea flicker.
One more thing, Shea Patterson is not very good. I have no idea how he was a 5 star recruit but clearly shows those ratings can be way off at times.

I always thought the blue faithful would stand by their man no matter what but now I am not so sure. It is still pretty early in the season to determine if ttun is that bad or if the badgers are just that good. I think it is a combination of both. Wiscy has a very good rushing game and Coan seems to be doing very well managing the game at the QB position. The defense has been stiffling outscoring the opponents 145 -14 considering the last 2 touchdown were scored in mop up duty.
I was able to tie work in with a visit to Omaha later this week so I will be in the stadium against Nebraska. This will probably be the first time I will be at the game where we are the overwhelming minority in the fan base. Even at ttun, the scarlet and gray are very well represented. ESPN and game day will be there so I am sure there will be a lot of energy for at least the first 10 minutes.

I think a typical 8th grade QB would have seen that one 9 out of 10 times. Not sure why he left ole Miss but it was probably the best thing that could have happened for the rebels.

Kentucky would be a Top 3 team in the B1G, maybe Top 2. They’re a pretty good football team.
They were 10-3 last year, beating Penn State. They had a great recruiting class. We did lose our QB, but... he wasn’t that great anyway. This team is not built around the QB position.
Florida is not flashy, but they are well coached and play hard.

Kentucky just lost to Miss St. there are plenty of Big 10 teams that would beat the snot out of Kentucky, ESPECIALLY this year conference stength always changes like one of those bop-a-mole games. The Big 10 is Loaded this year The PAC 12 and Big XII are deep as well SEC looks extremely powerful at the top, but after Florida, it's a drop off a cliff ACC having hard times...or are they? traditionals like FSU, Miami, and VT are down. But I think Pitt and Virginia might be pretty good

At least, they’d be competitive with any of them. I guess the close loss to Florida took some steam out of the Cats.
