I work for a company that has an office in Omaha and was able to make it out to Omaha with my bride for the game. First and foremost, you will not find a nicer more welcoming fan base than anywhere in the country. Got down to the tailgate around 1 for the 6:30 kickoff and without a doubt their fan base was very excited about having game day there. Just talking to them though they every single one of them just wanted to see a good game but were very aware that this game could get ugly. Walking around the tailgate just checking out the scene, we had multiple people come over and thank us for coming offering us a beers and talking football. I did remind them that tOSU has a track record of going against the west in a primetime game and coming out on the downside to at least give them some hope.
Getting to the game, we got there early enough to see the tunnel walk. That is were they have cameras following the players through the tunnels making there way to the field while ACDC was blaring. It was certainly worth getting there early for and you could feel the energy in the stadium. Unfortunately for the home team this game was almost over as soon as it was started. I was happy for my Buckeyes because more than ever, we need to dominate every game we can because it is tougher to get the pretty points when you play in the 3 yard in a cloud of dust league. I did feel bad for the Husker fans because they were so pumped up for this game and did not really have much to get excited for. The crowd was very loud early on but they were taken out of it pretty quick. In a way I was wanting a closer game for the excitement factor and see how my Buckeyes perform under adversity but that did not happen.
Overall it was a great experience and I would definitely recommend anyone to get to Lincoln for a game if you can. Walking out of the game the Husker fans congratulated me and apologized for not giving us a better game. They take pride in there hospitality and they certainly showed during the trip.

I've heard that over and over through the years that the Husker fans are the nicest, on average, in big time CF

I've heard that over and over through the years that the Husker fans are the nicest, on average, in big time CF....polar opposite of the SEC fans. Is it just not possible for you to complement Nebraska fans without taking a gratuitous shot at the SEC? I’ve attended SEC games at LSU, Auburn, UK, Vandy, UGA, A&M, South Carolina and Gainesville. Never had a bad experience at any of them. Georgia fans in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl were awesome. Bad fans can be found ANYWHERE. Generalizing against an entire conference is just ignorant.

Oh yeah, you're right Bevo. That was probably unfair. .....great fans can be found everywhere and jerks too. Have just heard of so many instances of fans spitting on opposing players at places like the Swamp. LSU fans walked up to my son and gave him the finger because he wore a VT cap when we went to the last VT-LSU game. There are bunches of opinionated 'most obnoxious CF fan bases' ratings out there and all are different. LSU and West Virginia seem to show up near the top in most.

I would certainly agree about the LSU fans. During the Sugar Bowl back in 2007 I had multiple incidences where people would be talking serious trash when we were just walking by. The Rose Bowl this year was awesome. Just a bunch of fans from 2 schools having some fun just happy to be at the game.
I will be heading to Morgantown this weak. I have heard how bad WVU fans can be but have yet to see it. It's my sons senior year there so it will by my fourth game and I would guess it will be my last. I am sure a lot of Texas fans will be getting the horns down gesture.

I've never been to Nebraska but of all the road trips I have taken Wisconsin was the best. The fans I sat close to were great and very welcoming. We had a blast at all the pregame activities. I even got my picture taken with Bucky Badger - of course it helped that Ohio State won pretty easily but we had a great day in Madison. Went to MSU last year and the fans were fine, they didn't expect to win and most had left by the end of the 3rd quarter - still nice and civil fans. Indiana was the same way. Purdue was also great - i went to a game when Drew Brees was playing and OSU lost but I felt great for their fans because the win helped them get to the Rose Bowl. The friend I went to the game with took me to a tailgate and I met the coach who had taken the Boilers to their previous Rose Bowl and he was literally crying - it was pretty cool. That season also signaled the end of the John Cooper era so the loss helped turn the Buckeye program around.
The Illinois fans we encountered were kind of douchey - I haven't been there since 2006 but they liked to hurl obscenities at the Buckeye fans. And as for the Big House, I've had good experiences there and bad ones. I quit going up there following the 1997 game when a 50ish year old man got in my 9 year old son's face and yelled, you're going down today you little pussy. I think about that piece of sh!t every year we kick their asses and smile knowing that ass-wipe is miserable, if in fact he's still among the breathing.

Interesting personal experiences with fan bases we've all had. Although we encountered so many low IQ types at Tiger Stadium the folks sitting around us were older adults and very nice. I was seated next to a bunch of drunk, obnoxious VT kids at the VT-Boise game in Washington a few years back. They didn't seem to know who had the ball , what the score was or when to cheer or boo. It was unpleasant.
I'd be interested in your experience in Morgantown , AJ, if you'd share it with us.

Agree....and to a certain extent, the teams are responsible now - at least in terms of the "in-game experience" To me the "in-game experience" is just another means of keeping people's eyes on their phones and not the game. Too busy taking photos, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and of course, athletic department "propaganda" pushed to their phones.

A guy I go to games with does nothing but read Twitter the entire game and then tries to read it to us as we're watching - I tell him I don't care what some stand-up-comic-wannabe who I've never met has to say about a game that I'm watching and can deduce my own opinions about.

The worst fan abuse I ever saw was a middle aged man yelling “Sparty wears a skirt” incessantly at two cute Michigan State co-Ed’s. ;-)

If the middle finger salute is too much to handle someone needs to find another hobby. I have seen my share and my thought was always, you just THINK YOU HATE US...wait until tomorrow. Honestly, American College Football Fans are a tame lot as fans go. Check out soccer fans in Europe and South America.

My last Bengal - Steeler game was not too bad during the game but once the game ended all hell broke lose. At one point there was a fight and a ring formed around the fight and both players were wearing Bengal jerseys. My understanding is that tOSU is not too bad of a place to go but stay away from Frat row as there is a bit too testosterone mixed with alcohol in that neck of the woods.
