The champions of the ACC, Big Ten, and SEC are almost assured of spots. The fourth spot will go to Notre Dame if they win out unless Oklahoma State is undefeated. If Oklahoma State is undefeated or Notre Dame drops a game, then the Big 12 champ gets in.

The Big 12 is taking themselves out tonight. Baylor beating OSU, while losing ANOTHER QB.... OU beating TCU, while losing their starting QB.
We're done.

Notre Dame just beat BC, a 3-7 team (now 3-8), by 3 points. The last 2 weeks, BC lost to 2 unranked teams by 16 points each.

The ACC and Big 10 aren't in quite yet, and by SEC, you mean Alabama, because the rest of the conference is ugly

I think a 1-loss Oklahoma would get in over a 1-loss (Really TWO loss) Michigan State. But, I'm not Ok St would... and, I don't expect OU to beat Okie St

Add some class to the Invitational....stick Navy in there if they can, somehow, beat Houston on Friday ( and then Army)

They pretty much are. The only way the ACC doesn't get in is if UNC loses next week and then knocks off Clemson. The only possibility for the Big Ten not getting in is if Michigan wins the conference. A one loss champion will be in and Michigan is the only team that can win the conference with more than one loss. Even then, I think Michigan would be in. The committee is going to give them a lot of credit for the MSU game; the only other loss was a close loss to a good Utah team in the first game of the season. Beating a one loss tOSU and an undefeated Iowa to close the season ould look really good as well.
The SEC actually has a tougher hurdle if Florida or Alabama loses next week and then wins the SEC CG.

Not a chance. You are comparing the champion of the top conference to the champion of the #5 conference. Plus OU would have one less win.

That's Bovine Excrement.. The Big 12 TODAY, has more teams in Sagarin's Top 10 than any other conference. TWICE as many as another other conference in the Top 11.
The top 4 teams in the Big 12 (OU, OSU, Baylor, TCU) are as good as ANY Top 4 in ANY other conference... even though all the other conferences have more teams.
The B1G is certainly NOT the top conference. Two, at best.. behind the SEC.
There's a LOT more parity this year than in recent years.

The ONLY team I feel confident about is Alabama...I think they'll stomp Auburn and Florida
Can Clemson get past North Carolina??? This is going to be the biggest "sweaty palms" game in Clemson history...North Carolina isn't that bad, and has the ability to make a game out of it
The Big 10 race should shape up after this weekend. Basically it's do or die for Michigan State, but they have a mediocre opponent at home. Ohio State has to turn around head to Ann Arbor to play another physical game with the Wolverines. Iowa has their own "sweaty palms" game against Nebraska. You've got to hand it to the B1G this year....they've had excellent games down the stretch

does that include QB injuries?? Honestly I was really impressed with how Baylor went into Stillwater and stomped Oklahoma State....with a 2nd and 3rd string QB!!!! I think Baylor is one of the best teams in the country, but they don't control their own fate....they need Oklahoma and Notre Dame to lose, which could very well happen. I don't think Oklahoma State is one of the top teams in the nation....TCU has had so many injuries as well....The Big XII is sort of limping to the finish line

I feel better after Saturday's game with Wake, certainly about the defense. The D only allowed Wake 152 yards, after Wake had gained 340 on ND and 357 against FSU.
The D produced 10 3-and-outs, 13 TFLs and 5 sacks.
Offense continues to roll 500+ per game. Watson should get an invite to NY.

I think he has a good shot at winning.

I think Sagarin doesn't take into account injuries... he just looks at actual stats. That's the current standing. If you look at the green "recent" rankings (which give more weight to recent games) he has Clemson at #2.
He has Okla St at 11. That looks about right to me.
OU has been playing as well as anybody. I STILL don't understand how Texas beat them?? If Mayfield plays (well), I think they'll roll over Ok. State. If he doesn't? OSU will probably win.
If Iowa wins out... They're in, for sure. If Ohio State recovers, gets in, then CREAM Iowa, they're in... for sure If Michigan State wins the B1G, and Oklahoma wins out? The committee's going to have a tough choice.
As other have said, I think a 1-loss Notre Dame gets picked over OU. They wouldn't DESERVE it... but, that's what would happen. But a "1+loss" Michigan State team? I don't think they would get selected. Oklahoma has buddies on the committee too. I don't know though.... would be close.
