Pretty good read. Especially like the part of calling out his families personal decision to play and his professional decision to shutdown the BIG.
Lots of very good statistics leads me further to believe this is about more than football.

Have you ever watched a Steve Deace podcast after a Michigan loss to Ohio State; as Kenny Banya would say - it’s gold!!!

The first statistic is absolutely ridiculous and I’m embarrassed for anyone who quotes it as a reason why COVID-19 is not a risk. Of course people are dying if they have a medical condition. The CDC says 6 in 10 Americans have a chronic health condition. Goes to 78% for those 55 and older. www.cdc.gov/nchs/health_policy/adult_chronic_conditions.htmwww.cdc.gov/chronicdisease/resources/infographic/chronic-diseases.htmCiting this statistic is simply saying your life is not valuable if you aren’t healthy, that you were already at risk for dying. If we are going for this reductionist logic, that if you have a medial condition then you’re going to die anyways, why not take it further? We all have a chronic condition called life, which has a 100% mortality rate. Everyone who class died from COVID-19 was guaranteed to die of other causes anyways. Every life is sacred. All lives matter. Except if my Saturday drinking beer watching college football is affected.

Does no one care about how the lives of these Big 10 athletes (not just football players) are being affected? What about the lives of the young people who were planning to attend in the future, on scholarships that likely will no longer exist? What IS the % of college age people that have died from COVID? It is possible to 'lose your life' without dying.

Not playing football is comparable to dying?
Please tell me this forum was hijacked, and is now just a parody of conservatism.

Not playing football is comparable to dying? No... but losing your job, your marriage, and perhaps your freedom due to mental health issues, or excessive drug and alcohol abuse can sure be comparable.
