Leaks coming from both Nebraska and Minnesota are indicating a yes vote and a start date in October.
Here was my contingent plan
1) WVU - Son Graduated 2) Cinti - Daughter is an incoming freshman that had to leave her dorm because of covid 3) The SEC school with the worst record going into each game. Hoping for 5 - 5 record across the board 4) Whoever plays Notre Dame or Clemson 5) The Sunbelt Trio Ragin Cajuns, CC, the otherEERS. Whoever stays undefeated. I'm sure it will have no impact on the Playoff but I can dream. 6) K,Kst,ISU - As long as they stay undefeated in the B12
Updated plan
1) tOSU 2) WVU - Son Graduated and after attending many games there they still remain high on the list
3) Whoever plays ND, Clemson, Bama, ttun
4) The SEC school with the worst record going into each game. Hoping for 5 - 5 record across the board 5) Cinti - Gonna take a few years before I latch on to this one considering every Bearcat fan despises the Buckeyes
Scratch (Time permitting these will likely drop off the list by the start of the BIG season x) The Sunbelt Trio Ragin Cajuns, CC, the otherEERS. Whoever stays undefeated. I'm sure it will have no impact on the Playoff but I can dream. x) K,Kst,ISU - As long as they stay undefeated in the B12

I hope they start on the 17th but if it’s the 24th that would also be a great Birthday present. Just give me football. Sadly the delay has cost Ohio State 2 first round draft picks who have decided to opt out - both were elected Captains - Wyatt Davis and Sean Wade. Sure hope Fields doesn’t bale!!

It is the 24th; eight games in eight weeks.

Rumor has it that several teams have been not practicing for 4 weeks. There was debate if all teams would participate. I think the move to the 24th is to accomodate all teams.

Big Ten will play a NINE game schedule. In addition to the CCG on Dec 19, there will be games for all of the other Big Ten teams 2 vs. 2, 3 vs. 3, etc.

Buckeyes had Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska originally in the crossover. Looks like one of those will be dropped.

I am really curious how they are going to work out week 9 (other than the CCG).
- Which team hosts? Will it be the better record (with some kind of tiebreaker) or will it be evenly split (East hosts even number seeds, West hosts odd)?
- What are the logistics? You are not going to know who you are playing and which team hosts until a week before the game.
- Are they going with division or conference records for seeding? With unbalanced schedules (only two crossovers), division record makes more sense. But for the CCG, conference record is likely in order to position teams with better records for the CFP.
Still a lot of questions.
Also, the crossover games. Are they going to go with two of the originally schedule three? Or are they going to try to balance the schedules? Or, will they take the SEC route and try to make easier schedules for the perceived better teams to smooth the way to the CFP.

I really hope the CFP just takes the four champions this season. It will be REALLY hard to determine the BEST four teams. First, the Big Ten teams will have nine games, SEC and Big 12 will have 10 games plus an extra game for two teams. The ACC will have 11 games plus an extra game for two teams. There will be no context for either the Big Ten or the SEC and very limited context between the the Big 12 and ACC. Finally, the Big Ten and SEC will end up with an overall record for all teams combined of .500. The ACC and Big 12 are playing home non-conference games against substantially weaker competition, which means their average record will likely be higher than .500. The insular schedules, lack of context and uneven number of games makes it VERY difficult if not impossible to statistically compare teams. Just take the four champions and let them play it out.

Crossover games: Now hearing that they will go back to the original three crossovers and remove one.

Now Ohio State will become only team in AP Poll history to go from No. 2 to unranked to No. 2 in 3 consecutive polls
