Alabama (Arky,Florida) Win IN Lose Probably IN Notre Dame (Clemson) Win IN Lose they need a Florida loss or Ohio State Loss and maybe a TAM loss
Clemson(Notre Dame) Win IN Lose Out
Ohio State (Michigan, Northwester) Win IN Lose Out
Texas AM (Ole Miss, Tennessee) Win and BAMA Win and (Ohio State or Clemson Loss)
Florida (LSU, Alabama) Win IN Lose Out
Cincinnati(Tulsa, Tulsa) Win and (3 must happen. (Florida Loss, Ohio State Loss, TAM Loss, Clemson Loss)
Indiana(Purdue, Iowa) Win out convincingly and meltdowns across the board. If they win big and OSU wins big they will need to be considered.
XMiami(UNC,GT) (No chance - Even a 2 loss Clemson stays ahead of them) XCoastal Carolina - Not Happening

The playoff SHOULD be:
Alabama/Florida winner Clemson/Notre Dame winner Probably Ohio State (still waiting to see how their season plays out) Coastal Carolina or Cincinnati
This is a great year to introduce a "lesser brand" school into the playoff
Coastal Carolina has good wins, and could win a very competitive Sun Belt this year. I think it would be a mistake to keep out one of these teams that have had excellent seasons for the likes of an also-ran like Texas A&M (or Miami or Indiana). Texas A&M, Miami, and Indiana should not even be on this list as they have no way of winning the conference championship.
#4 should be between the Big XII Champ, Cincinnati, and Coastal Carolina
Maybe similar to the 2011 season, this might be a season that promotes some changes to the postseason

Futhermore, some rules should be made...
Either make a conference championship a requirement
-OR-
Make a rule stating that just 1 team from each conference is allowed from the pool of 4 teams
For example, Ohio State BEAT Indiana. No way Indiana should be considered before other conference champs. Ohio State should be the Big 10 leader for the playoff. If some situation arose where Ohio State decided to just quit their season (hypothetical), then Indiana could be in the running if they win the Big 10 championship.
OPEN UP THE PLAYOFF.

This is one year where there should absolutely be no more than 1 team from each conference. Considering the number of interconference games is minimal there is very little to go on but I am sure the committee and the "eye test" will find a way around that.

It appears there are 7 teams still have a shot.
Tide: Alabama justs need to go 1-1 in their final two games.
Notre Dame: The ACC (rightfully, IMO) cancelled Notre Dame’s game against Wake Forest. The Irish just need a respectable performance against Clemson in the ACCCG to be in
Clemson: beat ND = they're in.
Ohio State: Here's the tough one. Buckeyes are undefeated and have a quality win over Indiana, but it was a close win (indiana outscored the Bucks 28-14 one - their other 4 opponents have a combined record of 8-18. Now things are more complicated as Michigan cancelled the game on them.
Who else?
Texas A&M: The Aggies hope to play Ole Miss this weekend and then make up a game against Tennessee on championship weekend. Wins in those games would push them to 9-1. They need to do that AND have two of the following to happen to have a chance of cracking the playoff field:
Florida loses to LSU or Alabama and does not jump them. Notre Dame beats Clemson and knocks the Tigers out. Ohio State loses a game or does not officially win the Big Ten.
Florida: The Gators control their own destiny, but must beat Alabama to get in.
Cincinnati: If the Bearcats can beat the Tulsa Golden Hurricane in the AAC Championship game, they’ll be 9-0 (their regular season matchup with Tulsa that was set for 12/12 has been cancelled). Even still, their playoff hopes may be dead as the Committee dropped them to No. 8 behind two-loss Iowa State this week. To have any shot at the playoff, they’ll need to beat Tulsa and other things have to happen.

C'mon guys. I'd like to think that we are, collectively, intelligent . I think we should, from this point on, refer to this post season event as the CFI (college football invitational) the DPI ( Dr. Pepper Invitational) or the ESPNCFI ( ESPN college football invitational ) Does this make sense to anybody else besides me ? This phony 'playoff'....the CFP, reminds me of the old 'Skins Game' which followed the regular PGA tour for 25 years beginning in 1983. It was strictly a made for TV, post season, invitational, exhibition Golf event that annually featured FOUR of the most marketable brand names in the sport.... guys like Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Fred Couples, Greg Norman, Lee Trevino, Arnold Palmer, Payne Stewart , Gary Player etc.etc. ...just like the CFI does with college football. It made lots of TV revenue just like the CFP does.....but in no way was it a sports championship. Let's separate ourselves from the mainstream sports media and other CF forums and refer to this event for what it is.

Exactly Hero.......big time, big profit sports related ENTERTAINMENT. I enjoyed it too , but it was an Invitational Exhibition event and nothing to do with any legitimate PGA golf championship.....just as the CFP is a brand name only, 4 team, 3 game invitational bowl event for TV entertainment profit ... It's exciting but there has NEVER EVER been a legitimate big time CF championship playoff in the 150 year history of 'major' CF. There has only been championship playoffs in the lower divisions for about the last 50 years.

At this point, it's not rocket science....
1. Alabama is in, win or lose. 2. Notre Dame is in with a win with a good shot at being in with a loss, depending on how close the game is. 3. Clemson is in with a win, may be in trouble with a loss. 4. Ohio State is in with a win, a dominating win would solidify the cause, they're out with a loss. 5. A+M is in with an Ohio State loss. Unfortunately this set's up two rematches for the semi-finals unless ND is dropped to 4 and A+M rises to 3.
I guess Cincinnati could have a chance if Ohio State and Clemson both lose. That would set up a semi-final game similar to what we saw with LSU/Oklahoma last year as Alabama would completely destroy the outmanned Bearcats.

It has been a while since I have seen a team blow a game like Florida did. Considering LSU had a Freshman QB with all of their top receivers gone was pretty impressive from that side of the ball. Closest game that comes to mind for me is the OSU meltdown against MSU in 98. Good thing for tOSU that Florida laid the egg because we are pretty much in a win and your in situation. I don't see any meltdown with this team. The cleat thrower is going to have this one haunt him for the rest of his life.
This weekend should be some fun assuming we don't get covid out of a game again. As much as it hurts I think I am going for ND this weekend. The they loose they are probably still in. If they win then we will get them. No guarantees that they leave out Clemson but if they do I would look forward to listening to Dabo whine as you know he will be vocal about this.

I think we would all enjoy more teams but this is the truth...FWIW.
