Fields clearly looks off especially compared to the first 3 games of the season. I think a couple of things have happened. During the first 3 games he was very relaxed and confident. He was releasing the ball quicker and was very accurate in passes with tight coverage. Against Indiana they brought a lot of pressure and he forced many bad passes. Against MSU he was throwing the bad passes away and seemed to look better but he still held on the ball too long. Against Northwestern he seemed very indecisive with his passes causing him to hold onto the ball too long.
So what has changed? Lost confidence? Not enough preparation and cohesiveness with receivers?
I think that with all of the issues tOSU has had with covid the offense is simply not in sync. Keep in mind during the first 3 weeks of the season he had more touchdown passes than in-completions. His decision making was much quicker and his accuracy was much better. It will be interesting what they figure out in the next week or 2.
One other thing. I think based on his performance against Indy and NW it will lead him to coming back for another year. If I am a pro team there is no way I am taking him at the moment. Another year in college will do wonders for him.

I don’t see it. He’ll get drafted and he knows it. Maybe not #1 overall. But even third or fourth round prospects make good money for at least a few year.
He’ll go.

You are probably right but what he showed in the NW and Indiana games I think will cause some teams to stay away. To his defense, I think a vast majority of practices have been virtual and he is not getting nearly as many reps in as normal. During the first few games his reading of defenses and accuracy were off the charts. He seems hesitant at the moment and not nearly as accurate as of late. He has got a week and half to fix it.

Personally I'd love to see them work him more into the running game - I think that would make defending the offense that much more difficult. I understand not risking injury against lesser teams with a multiple games left to play but now it's one and done and you have the off season to recover. Let him use his running skills to loosen things up a bit.
And he'll be drafted in the top 5 so there's no reason for him to come back to Ohio State. When Denzel Ward was picked at #4 a couple years ago he got a $25 million contract - there isn't a 21 year old in the world who you would tell 'don't take that money.'

Probably some of all that, plus Day seemed to be calling more 50/50 or homerun balls this year? You are talking about a guy that had 50+ TDs and only a few INTs last year.
