A couple of months ago my roommate at Alabama had tickets and wanted me to meet him in Dallas for the Wisconsin game. I thought hard about it and decided it was too close for comfort with my daughter due to deliver MY FIRST GRANDCHILD on September 22. Thursday morning my 38 weeks pregnant daughter calls with fever and vomiting. By the afternoon she was dehydrated and fever is 102 as she heads to the hospital. Fluids and drugs help so we try to sleep. I am so worried. 2AM the phone rings, her water has broken and we should not come. I tell my wife to go back to sleep. I get up and start getting dressed and my wife is not far behind. We head to the hospital and find my daughter in labor and still getting fluids and drugs because of the infection. About 12 hours later my first granddaughter was born healthy and happy. My tough as nails daughter is doing great. They all came home yesterday and I feel pretty good I didn't fly to Dallas. I have a granddaughter who really loves her pawpaw, my daughter is fine and Bama won. Can life get better? I don't think it can. Sometimes life just rocks.

Congratulations! Glad to hear all is well with the family. We're a little behind on the grandchild train but we did pick the site for our son's rehearsal dinner next October. It's more than a year away but it's nice to know we got that out of the way!

THANK YOU!! I was about to burst!
So glad to know everyone is home now. I know you did a lot of praying this weekend. Sounds like they were ALL answered.
Next week, can you work the Longhorns into your script?

Awesome!
Reminds me of the birth of my American children. Both hung around for 38 weeks. My daughter was born during the middle of the 7th game of the 1973 World Series, 9 lbs 4 ounces. My son came along 2 years later, 9 lbs 11 ounces. Come November, all of my children will be in their 40s.
