So we've started watching our grandson on Fridays - this is our third week. My wife and I work remotely and we take turns taking care of him when he's awake. He's over 3 months old now so he doesn't cry unless he needs something. Today I'm solo as my wife is on a girls weekend down at Norris Lake. We're having a blast so far - all I do is try to make him smile and that, in turn, makes me smile. Today he's wearing a onesie that says, Awesome Little Human and I have to agree. He is an absolute miracle.

It's great to have that connection between the generations.

When they come over for even a few hours, we have a lot for fun with them. But, we're both exhausted when they leave. And, our house looks like a tornado went through. Raising kids is a "young person's game". But, we love them to death.

In our toddler group we have a Hank, Luke and Colt. Should be a heck of a country band.

I am playing Go Fish with my 5yo granddaughter. She cheats. God is good. When our daughter was little (3 or 4) we used to play Candyland. She loved the Queen Frostine card so she would stack the deck so she would always draw that card. Trouble was, she'd never win because she was always drawing the Queen Frostine card - we used to call her Queenie. We'd also play War a lot only I was the one who cheated playing that game. Anytime we'd have a war I'd make sure my up card was a 2 or 3 so sh'ed win the hand - made the game go quicker and she always won.

I still think the best Madden ever) I used to play conservatively, let him stay in the game... so, his feelings weren't hurt. Then, I'd BEAT him in the 4th quarter. No free lunch. Just a few years later, I realized... He was doing the SAME THING to me... just so I wouldn't quit playing with him. It was a sad realization. Now, he usually beats me at golf too. Not always. But, more times than not.
