Not debating the Association's klutzy rules just skeptical that the NCAA would allow non NCAA members to compete in its NCAA championships. Still don't think so. We'll see.
.....and you should know by now that I have been STRONGLY in favor of the win-at-all-costs mega sports factories seceding from the National Collegiate Athletic Association which would allow the association to re-group, re-classify and offer a more genuine, amateur, college related model of intercollegiate sports.
For football I still believe a full fledged NFL minor league system solves many of the football conflicts for that sport although it will never happen as long as the league has a 100% 'free' one already in place.

The future is coming. Get on board with it or get run over by it. I can see the mega money, semi- pro programs having their own post seasons in other sports, like they do in football, but the remaining association members won't allow those teams to compete in NCAA championship events mostly based on potential different rules. For example, suppose the new professional organization allows unlimited scholarships and has designated starting salaries for athletes, allows 50 % more coaching staff sizes,, makes classroom attendance strictly optional, gives 6 years of playing eligibility ,with no academic eligibility standards at all, permits 30 basketball scholarships, 40 Baseball scholarships etc. etc. ?? In other words , other than football , the pro conference will have to abide by NCAA rules to compete for NCAA championships and will those University presidents allow entirely different rules for scholly football student-athletes than all other scholly student-athletes at their schools ? I think the pro breakaway schools will have to be all in or all out. We can only speculate. Can you hear it? It is coming.

I'm writing down ........'.non NCAA member colleges will be allowed to play in NCAA sports championships' as guaranteed by Hero, CPA and Bevo. You’re thinking is flawed Hen. These schools WILL be NCAA members for all the sports that play in NCAA championships. They will just carve out football.

They've already separated for post season football for over 40 years but if these super jock factories do, indeed, secede from the association you won't see them in the NCAA basketball tourney, the CWS etc. Now somebody around here did say this semi-pro break off group will be dropping out of the NCAA ( which I hope is true !)
BTW, what will this WAAC grouping be called ?
