CJ Stroud has been named Ohio State's starting QB. Barring injury, this kid should put up 45-50 TD passes this season. Let the fireworks begin....in 11 days....

The last time Michigan beat Ohio State in Columbus, QB1 CJ Stroud was... not yet born.

What a turnaround in the ttun series since the start of the Tressel era. He made it a point to put a huge emphasis on beating ttun.
Tressel-Urban-Day combined record against ttun 17 - 1
Last loss at home vs ttun was Cooper who was 2 - 10 - 1. No road wins and according E Gorden Geek one of our biggest wins in school history was a 13 - 13 tie.
Coaches records Tressel 94 - 22 .810 Winning % Urban 82 - 9 .901 Winning % Day 23 - 1 .958 Winning %
From what I see with Day as both recruiter and coach I say we Buckeyes are in pretty good hands.

Now that IS so much actual winning! Are you getting tired of it yet? I don't think so!

Now that IS so much actual winning! Are you getting tired of it yet? I don't think so! The thing that makes this stretch so rewarding is that got to go through Earl Bruce era which was mediocrity 9 - 3 every for about 8 straight years. Then we had the Cooper era. If you take away the Bowls and ttun his winning % was .800. Then when you get to the money games overall he was 5 - 18 -1. He had a lot of good teams but they just ended in heartbreak. The most notable losses where Mich St 1996 and Michigan 1998. Anyway that era usually left with many should of could of but in the end we laid an egg. I recall ttun fans stating that at that time they viewed Mich St and ND as their biggest rival. Because of that it makes it that much sweeter every time the Buckeyes put another Gold Pants charm around their neck. That being said. You are correct. We are not getting tired of it.

Flip that - Michigan was '96 and MSU was '98 - I was at both games and they were excruciating losses which both occurred due to physical/mental lapses by our defense and special teams. In '96 Shawn Springs slipped in coverage on a simple slant pass which went for a TD and in '98 a punt bounced off a Buckeye blocker which turned the tide against the Spartans. Both those teams could have been national champs, they were loaded.

Got our new seat assignments. We have 4 total between 3 of us. 2 26 C row 16 2 18 C row 8. The road trip to Minny seems like a great time. My buddies and I plan to start doing the Big 10 road tour once we all get our kids out of college. So far I have only been the ttun and Nebraska. Got a lot to go.

We've been to 10 of the 14 stadiums (well it will be 10 following the Minnesota game). Here's how I'd rank them....(clearly Ohio Stadium is #1 ) 2. Camp Randall (Wisconsin) - great atmosphere. Jump around was a lot of fun. The tailgating and bars around Camp Randall were great. The fans we sat around were nice - just a great trip, plus the Buckeyes won fairly handily. 3. Ross Ade Stadium (Purdue) - We went Drew Brees' senior year - the Boilermakers won on a late TD, fairly long - I think Mike Doss was in coverage. The crowd was great but the coolest part was the guy I went with had pretty good connections so we were able to tailgate right outside the stadium with a lot of former Purdue coaches and players. After the game, I was talking with the coach from the last time Purdue went to the Rose Bowl and he was crying he was so overcome with emotions - even though we lost I felt happy for the Purdue fans. 4. Ryan Field (Northwestern) - I had the best time at Northwestern - I went to the game the day before running the Chicago Marathon. They weren't even playing Ohio State - it was against Michigan State. At that time Northwestern was just emerging as a decent program. They ended up winning on a late FG and the stadium went crazy - the stadium is small but it was a beatiful day and a great diversion from thinking about running 26.2 miles the next day. 5. Michigan Stadium (Michigan) - I've been there 4 times - once I had decent fans around me while the other times they were absolute jerks. The best game was 1979 when we clinched a Rose Bowl berth. I was also there for Earle Bruce's final game - that was an emotional day. There isn't a bad seat in the Stadium but the fans are brutal and if you have to take a piss you miss a quarter. Also, it takes about an hour to get out of the place. 6. Memorial Stadium (Indiana) - Kind of a glorified high school stadium but the atmosphere was great, probably because 80% of the fans were Ohio State fans. I've been there a couple times - one year when Gerry DiNardo was the IU coach, the stadium cheered louder when Ohio State entered the field and they actually booed when IU entered - DiNardo stopped in his tracks, lowered his head and slinked over to the sidelines. We also got a pretty good O-H-I-O going during the game. 7. Spartan Stadium (Michigan State) - The day we went to Spartan Stadium it was cold - really cold. We were in the upper deck at mid-field and it was windy, I bought the tickets the day before off StubHub for $12 a piece! It wasn't the best game. Sparty's offense was putrid. The bathroom line was so long I just decided to hold it the entire game - the same with concessions. The FG kicker for Sparty was from our grade school, we know his parents really well so we tailgated with them before the game. He made a FG and missed one. I think OSU won 24-3. 8. SHI Stadium (Rutgers) - SHI is actually a newer stadium, not bad - pretty decent sightlines and they have decent tailgating surrounding the stadium. Their team is just horrible and the atmosphere is similar to a HS game. By halftime most of the Rutgers fans had left - Ohio State won 49-7, I believe - it was the game before JT Barrett was pulled over for DUI. We went to the game for my birthday and we spent the day before in NYC which was a great time. Did a boat ride down the Hudson to the Statue of Liberty, saw a play, toured the 9/11 Memorial and had some NY style pizza, great day in NYC! 9. Memorial Stadium (Illinois) - The stadium is old and needed renovation (maybe they've done that since we were there - the last time we went was 2006 and it was bitter cold.) The team is historically bad so the fans down get too excited. The upper decks were fairly empty. The field itself was the old turf and looked very dingy. Hopefully they have renovated but based on my experience, it was at the bottom of the heap. I'll rank Minnesota after the game. I expect a great atmosphere. We saw the stadium in March, it looks fairly nice and somewhat intimate. Of course the game result will be a huge factor, as well. Need to schedule trips to Nebraska, Penn State, Iowa and Maryland.
