I just don't see Alabama or Georgia losing....which means most likely they head to the SEC Championship, where the loser has an excellent shot at making the playoffs. So basically, I think they are both in at this point
>Georgia >Alabama
I think the PAC 12 and ACC are most likely out. Wake Forest has the greatest chance in the ACC, but can they really go through unscathed? Pitt, despite beating Tennessee, has a horrendous loss to Western Michigan on their resume.
Last night, both UCLA and Oregon lost. That leaves 1-loss Arizona State...that loss being to BYU.
What about Oklahoma in the Big XII....ya they're still technically alive. So is Oklahoma State, and Texas if they win out. OU is playing like they are on borrowed time. We shall see, but I think the Big XII will eat itself.
The team I really like right now is: Cincinnati ....but they do have a date with currently 5-0 SMU on November 20th. So they aren't out of the clear just yet.
Also what if SMU beats Cincinnati and goes undefeated? What about BYU? Coastal Carolina? I think this may be the best opportunity for a nonP5 school to make the playoff.
Who have I left out?
The Big 10
I think the Big 10 Champ most likely gets in, possibly even with 2 losses depending on how thinks shake out. The Big 10 looks like the best conference so far this year. All these teams are headed to the top 10....Penn State and Iowa are highly ranked now. Ohio State will be back in shortly, and Michigan and Michigan State are marching up there.
So basically I have: >Georgia >Alabama >Iowa (as a placeholder for the top Big 10 team) >Cincinnati (up here at least until SMU beats them)

I'll predict this, right now: NO P5 Conf Champ with TWO losses will get into the CFP over an undefeated SMU Or Cincy.

It's weird, but all the media folks who, for the last 6 years were saying Clemson is not a dynasty, are now saying the Clemson dynasty is over.

My take is as follows 0 or 1 Loss SEC Champ 0 or 1 Loss B10 Champ 0 Loss B12 Champ 1 Loss SEC Non Champ Undefeated Cincinnati or 1 Loss B10 Non Champ or 1 Loss B12 Champ (All depends on committee eye test.) Cincinnati will be hurt by a poor OOC league perfomance and Indiana no longer looks like a good win. The desperately need ND to run the table.

Could be like 2007...Media makes big deal about no team with two losses has made CFP. In 2007 teams ranked 2-7 in final poll before the bowls all had 2 losses. Had there been a CFP in 2007 three of the 4 teams would have had 2 losses. LSU won Natty with 2 losses.

While, the ACC, PAC12, and Big XII are technically still alive, I don't think you'll have a 1 loss team from any of them. UCLA is already done, and Arizona State and Oregon already have a loss. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are still undefeated, but OU could go down this weekend. The ACC's lone hope is Wake Forest
I actually think the Big 10 champ could have 2 losses and possibly still get in
As far as Cincinnati....we shall see, but wouldn't surprise me if SMU took them out
BYU isn't out of the woods yet either....road trips at Baylor and USC
The race for #4 could be really exciting this year

As long as there are 0, or 1-loss P5 Champs, or even runner-ups in the SEC ,available, I don't see a G5 school getting in. But, I think the "show" of being "fair", if only to prevent anti-trust lawsuits would prevent the committee from elevating a 2-loss P5 school over an undefeated G5 school that has a good resume, like BYU or Cincy. It would be cool to see on make it this year. Once the expansion happens, it'll be commonplace.

Clemson and Bama hate in the same tweet Nobody hates a loser. Clemson may be down but they certainly are not out. tOSU got similar treatment when we took it on the chin against Purdue and Iowa.

BYU vs Cincy SMU vs Coastal That would be a VERY entertaining G5 playoff! I would watch it. And, I suspect many more would. Rather see that than Coastal vs Bama.
