It's just a playoff outlook, its not brain surgery....no wait, this week its brain surgery
disclaimer*** these are projections for the top 6 teams I see at the end of the season, after all games will have been played
----
Teams I like:
Georgia of course
Ohio State is quietly starting to cruise
Notre Dame should start rising as long as Cincinnati doesn't lose. They get a bye next week, and then have USC at home. If they beat USC, everything is downhill from there. 4 of their remaining 6 games will be at home.
Iowa has a good chance to win out, although still have some tricky games vs. Wisconsin, Northwestern, and Nebraska
What about Oklahoma?? I don't know....they are extremely hard to read right now, and have 4 remaining losable games against TCU, Baylor, Iowa State, an Oklahoma State, plus the Big XII Championship. Could they beat Texas twice?
Here's the final rankings I am projecting:
1. Georgia
2. Ohio State
3. Cincinnati
4. Notre Dame
----
5. Oklahoma
6. Iowa
Where is Alabama? I have them losing to Georgia in the SEC Championship
I have Ohio State winning out, and winning the Big 10 in the process
I have Cincinnati going undefeated, and Notre Dame following them into the playoffs. Cincinnati and Notre Dame benefit from each other oddly. Notre Dame is Cincinnati's best win; the higher the Irish, the better Cincinnati looks. Cincinnati is also Notre Dame's best loss vs. other 1-loss teams. As long as each keeps winning, they oddly benefit each other.
I have Oklahoma losing once, maybe even twice. They are kind of a wildcard. Wouldn't surprise me to see them upset next week vs. TCU. Or they could catch fire and go undefeated. Who knows.
I have Iowa going undefeated but losing to Ohio State in the Big 10 Championship.
Where is Oregon? no idea really...they also are a wildcard. In two weeks they play UCLA in the Rose Bowl, and everything could come crashing down.
There are also strangely undefeated teams like Wake Forest, SMU, Oklahoma State and Kentucky....
And there are also some pretty good Big 10 teams in the East that could challenge Ohio State, namely Michigan, Michigan State, and Penn State
Baylor could pulls a magic trick and beat everyone in the Big XII
Anyways, that's how I see it midway through the season
