The B1G East team schedule's are back loaded. The Top 4 teams, all ranked in the top 10, have to play each other the last 5 weeks of the season. I think Ohio State will win out - I just don't think the other East division teams have enough offensive fire power to outscore Ohio State. Penn State and Michigan have strong defenses but their offenses aren't nearly as strong - especially if Clifford is out for PSU - I think he'll get dinged up again and miss more action - he just plays too wrecklessly.
I think Michigan State will beat Michigan in East Lansing on October 30, Lose at Ohio State, beat Penn State at home in their final game of the year but lose one other game - probably at Purdue. I also think their coach could wind up at LSU or USC. They'll wind up 10-2.
I think Michigan will lose to Michigan State, Penn State and Ohio State but win their other 3 games and wind up 9-3.
Penn State will lose at Ohio State, beat Michigan at home and lose at Michigan State. They'll also wind up 9-3.
On the West side - as I've said I think Iowa was grossly over rated. At the same time, most teams in the west are having a down year. The Hawkeyes benefit from Purdue having to play at Ohio State which should give them a second B1G loss. I think Iowa has a high chance of winning out and if they do, they'll be at the B1G championship game at 11-1. If Minnesota wins out, they'll be in the championship at 10-2. If Purdue wins out, and again they have that trip to Columbus, they'll need Minnesota to lose at least one game - most likely at Iowa. Iowa also travels to Nebraska the day after Thanksgiving and they may be playing for their coaches job. The Huskers have a tough road ahead with games against Purdue, Ohio State, Iowa and Wisconsin so they have a chance to spoil someone's year. I don't see any of the other West teams being able to make up enough ground to win the division.
So I guess we'll see how this plays out - I'm a homer so I couldn't pick against the Buckeyes !
