The Buckeyes are headed to Cincinnati to play Xavier in the B1G Ten/Big East challenge. Since I work for Xavier I'll be hosting donors in my Musketeer spirit wear. Inside I'll be rooting for Ohio State - it's a no win situation. Even if Ohio State wins I can't celebrate in front of our donors. And if Xavier wins my co-workers will be wearing me out the rest of the season.
The last time they played, Ohio State erased a 9 point deficit with under 3 minutes to play and won the game in OT - they made a 3 pointer at the buzzer to put the game in OT. That was during the 2007 NCAA tournament which the Buckeyes wound up playing Florida in the title game. It was a monumental collapse by Xavier fueled by what many thought was a flagrant foul by Greg Oden late in regulation. At that point it looked grim for Ohio State and had the refs called a flagrant foul it would have been. The Xavier faithful have waited 14 years for this game tonight - I wish they'd never play.

I remember that game well. Tennessee had a similar collapse in the tourney against the Buckeyes as well. Not sure if was the same year but in the same era. I still see a win win. Buckeyes win and you will have inner happiness for the night and inner peace for the year. Nothing was worst than the wieght we would have to carry after a ttun loss during the Cooper era.
BTW I took over my parents season tickets for the Flyers this year. They were supposed to be loaded with young talent but somehow have notch back to back losses to UM Lowell and Lipscomb??? Looks like the Buckeyes Hoopsters will need to carry the weight for me this basketball season.
