I agree. No way Notre Dame can jump them with only Stanford left to play. Houston is higher ranked than the Cardinal - the Irish need some real help to make the playoff at this point and quite frankly with the schedule they play they don’t deserve it.

Just a warning to Cincy....don't sleep on ECU....and Houston won't be an easy out either.

If Cincinati can make its way up to 3 and Ohio State wins out we’ll see the biggest college football between two in-state Ohio teams in the history of college football in Ohio! It would be a mega game in the Buckeye State!

If EITHER OU or Okie State win the Big 12 with only 1 loss? I am damned near CERTAIN they would jump over Cincy for the 4th spot.
I mean, Hen GUARANTEED it.

Without Cincy's transitioning to a privileged, so called, P5 status they would have a CFI #5 ceiling like all the other superb , so called, G5 teams over the years. This situation could be different in the eyes of the selectors and ESPN based on this transitory status.

Cinti is out if BAMA Beats UGA I give it a 40% chance tOSU or ttun win out I give it an 80% chance
Oklahoma St wins out I give it a 50% chance
Not terribly likely but if this happens nothing UC does can get them in.

Any 1-loss P5 team would jump them. But, I don't think a 2-loss team would... not even Bama.

IMO,.... 2020 Coastal was at least as strong as this Cincy team 2017 Central Florida was significantly stronger 2011 Boise State was stronger 2011 Houston was as strong 2009 Boise State was significantly stronger 2008 Utah was as strong 2006 Boise was every bit as strong 2004 Utah was as strong 2003 Miami, Oh was as strong 1999 Marshall was stronger 1985 Air Force was about as strong
...and none of these excellent teams got a sniff of an opportunity in the various 'exclusive' mythical systems of the day. I think BYU's 1984 MNC inspired the CF powers to limit all MNC candidates to 'name brand /TV juicy' teams only.

If Georgia beats Alabama, that pushed Notre Dame in
Can the Big XII Champ jump Notre Dame? I doubt it

Without a genuine inclusive playoff to determine anything what isn't an opinionated "eye test" , hero ? We've had 150 +years of opinionated "eye tests", name brand tests, TV star power tests, perceived talent tests, etc etc.......everything but head -to- head, post season, actual on field elimination competition .... the true "test" that all other team sports use. And note the "IMO"
Take a minute to think about it : These 11 teams mentioned finished the seasons 137-5 (.965), won conference championships yet were "VOTED" not worthy for an opportunity to compete for national titles. What a system, huh ?

Georgia continues to be on cruise control until the SEC Championship Game.
The Buckeyes turned what figured to be the b1g premier game of the weekend into an absolute first half bludgeoning of MSU.
I'm still sure that Alabama has to win out to feel comfortable about making it. Auburn doesn’t have the horses to beat the Tide so their season hinges on an SEC Championship showdown with Georgia. Of course there are scenarios where a two-loss Bama could sneak in, but let's not go there jsut yet.
Cincinnati has finally broken through the g5 glass ceiling. The Bearcats obviously must win out, but they need to make sure other results don’t give the committee any opening to jump teams ahead of them. And yes, I'm talking the Cowboys of OSU.
The Wolverines have a great opportunity ahead of them this week, but Harbuagh can't cash those big game checks. . The Irish refuse to go away. Quite the contrary, they continue to slide closer to the field with each passing week simply by default.
the Cowboys are the true fly in the ointment because of what lies ahead of them. Adding potential wins over Oklahoma and Baylor in the next two weeks would strengthen an already respectable resume and could be more than enough to garner inclusion in the field. A loss anywhere would knock Oklahoma State out.
The Bears have a path to the Big XII Championship but no realistic path to the Playoff.
Likewise, Ole Mrs. put together a nice season but will fall short of threatening the four-team field.

Likewise, Ole Mrs. put together a nice season but will fall short of threatening the four-team field. You must have forgotten to mention the BIG WIN in Austin yesterday? The Longhorns gritted out a win with TWO, count em TWO 4th Quarter 4th down stops. Actually, both times, KState had a 3rd and 1, and Texas shut em down FOUR times in a row. I was watching the game at Ceasar's, A big, loud crazy guy was sitting on the couch near me. He was pulling for Texas, hard. Eventually he asked me I had money on them. I replied, "No... I'm just an alumni that bleeds orange. I don't need money down to care about Texas winning". Then, he showed me his ticket: $2000 on Texas, -3 At that time, early 4th quarter, Texas was leading by 2. I told him "You must have giant BALLS of steel. I wouldn't bet a nickel of house money on Texas". We pulled em out, together. I suggested he throw a $100 my way, just for showing up and cheering them to victory. He laughed. :-( The win gave Texas 5 wins, and some pundits are saying that might mean a bowl game, if there aren't enough elgible teams. I sure hope not. NO ONE wants to see this Texas team play again. I doubt The University would accept an invite. We've lost a ton of recruits in the past few weeks. But, one top level DB just reversed course and re-committed. I hope he can pull a few more with him. Just remembered, the guy also told Golden State was going to LOSE last night. I guess I should check and see what happened?
