BH-Did you see this?
Alabama's Ryan Kelly was named the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Kelly, a senior leader on the Alabama offensive line, has also been a standout in the classroom for the Crimson Tide. After completing his undergraduate degree in marketing last summer, Kelly is currently pursuing his master's degree in the same field, which he is scheduled to receive this month. The senior currently holds a 3.75 GPA in his graduate studies. During his undergraduate career, Kelly was named to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll three times, the SEC Freshman Honor Roll and the Dean's list in both semesters of 2013. Kelly was selected as a semifinalist for the 2015 William V. Campbell Trophy, which recognizes the best scholar-athlete in the nation. Kelly also landed the Jacobs Blocking Trophy to go along with his SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year honor, sharing the award with Arkansas' Tretola. Kelly has started 33 career games from the center position for the Crimson Tide and has helped clear a path for 208.2 rushing yards per game that ranks 27th nationally and third in the SEC. Kelly has had an average offensive line grade of 88.33 percent this season, including five games above 90 percent. He has had 12 knockdown blocks from his center position this season and has not allowed a sack.

No but thanks for sharing. Hats off to the West Chester, Ohio boy. Wish all big time CF players could be like that. Hero, do you know why the Alabama Football media guide refuses to list the majors of the players ? FSU's media guide refuses also but about all the rest do list majors and academic info on players....even places like LSU. Bama just lists volumes and volumes of football accolades in the player bios.

. Bama just lists volumes and volumes of football accolades in the player bios. Maybe the other schools are just trying to fill space because they don't have many football accolades to use?

Why is Bama about the only program not to list majors ? Is it ashamed or something ? Privacy doesn't seem to be an issue elsewhere in CF. I've always been interested in the "student" part of student-athlete. Most CF fans could care less about the 'student' part or the 'college' part of college football ...understood, but it's supposed to exist. Just curious why Bama chooses to be secretive in this matter. Maybe I'll ask Finebaum since you won't help. Now, Hero, you obviously have some little pride or interest in the 'student' side of the sport or you wouldn't have sent the nice academic info about the Ohio boy, Kelly.

You don't think he is a student? It says he is studying marketing. What else do you need to know? Please provide a link where you are reading this info on all other schools.

You certainly don't get it....and I'm surprised, Hero. It's just a simple, direct question directed at you because you're a Bama aficionado . Why does the University Of Alabama refuse to list the academic majors of its players in the football media guide ? ....like 98% of the CF media guides do ? You want me to list the media guide links to all the NCAA College football playing schools that have media guides ?. Now that's "lunacy" And this simple basic question has nothing to do with Kelly. Of course I know he's a student.
