Since we've been quarantined we've watched a few movies - here they are in order of preference.
1. Coda - about a high school senior who is the only hearing member of her family. She wants to go to college and be a singer, the family needs her to communicate for the family business. I actually teared up at the end.
2. Belfast - the turmoil of 1969as seen through the eyes of a 10 year old boy. Semi-autobiographical account of the directors (Kenneth Branaugh) childhood.
3. Don't Look Up - the end of the world is upon us but the powers that be are more interested in approval ratings.
4. Being the Ricardos - a tumultuous week in the making of I Love Lucy.
5. King Richard - how Richard Williams took sisters from Compton and transformed them into the best women's tennis players in the world. I think the Williams sisters are an incredible story but they didn't talk about Richard's 'warts' of which there are more than a few.

Did you know. The two older sisters never lived with Richard and the two younger girls. They never knew him practically
I did like the movie though

Did you know. The two older sisters never lived with Richard and the two younger girls. They never knew him practically I did like the movie though It wasn't bad I just liked the others more. And as you point out and I said, they didn't paint the most accurate picture of who Richard Williams truly is. Very solid performance by Will Smith, though. I saw Licorice Pizza yesterday - kind of a creepy premise (a 15 year old boy trying to have a relationship with a 25 year old woman) but the performances make it believable even if the woman would most likely be thrown in jail in today's world. BTW - we've been watching The Americans which was out a few years ago (it's on Amazon Prime now). About a Russian spy couple living in Washington DC. I don't know how I missed it when it first came out but it's really good and I've never seen so much sex on a show that was on regular TV (first was out on FX). My goodness, are they creative in their 'positions'...

Thanks for the heads up on pizza. Although I’m sure I’d like it, I’m more sure mamaBevo would not,
Think we’ll go see the Kurt Warner

We just watched the Ricardos. Made me want to punch Aaron Sorkin in the nose. How do you do a whole movie about I Love Lucy, and make it sad?
It was interesting, just because of the subject matter. But, I hated the way this film was made. It jumped ALL over the place, and it was difficult to keep track... since the characters look the same in every time setting. The performances were phenomenal. The actress who played Vivian Leigh was superb. Nicole Kidman should win some awards. She was terrific.
Worth watching... if only to get a look at the behind the scenes method for show-making. But, I didn't like the movie all that much. It was slow, and at times, confusing.

Yes, we watched that last week. I agree - the performances were very good but I thought JK Simmons was a bit over the top - I typically like him, too - he's a HUGE Buckeye fan. It was interesting how Kidman was able to show both sides of Lucy's persona - on screen and in real life. This past fall I was listening to a station on XMradio and for about 3 or 4 weeks they ran nothing but podcasts made by Lucy back in the mid-60's - they actually claim that Lucy was one of the earliest podcasters. Anyway she would do 7-10 minute interviews with some of the biggest names from that era - Barbra Streisand, Hedda Hopper, Edith Head, George Cukor, Arlene Dahl, Betty Hutton - many, many more. They were very interesting. I listened until I heard all the interviews a couple times and then it went off the air. She'd talk about family, work, travel, movies, etc. It was such a different time - I don't think some of her questions would fly today. Anyway, it helped make my drives to Cleveland and Columbus more entertaining. BTW - I announced my retirement at work - my last day will be June 30,2022 - 6 months to go!!

Congrats, at least you have a light at the end of the tunnel. I was planning on next Monday being my last day but a friend who retired last December suggested staying on the extra 6 months because he was bored stiff last winter - makes sense I guess. Plus I'm due to get some back pay and benefits in February that were put on hold due to COVID.
And we haven't seen the Last Knight but will check it out - I really like Jodie Comer, she was great in Killing Eve!
