* After the Cotton and Orange games.....
1) First and foremost, these recruiting gurus that assign stars to these prospects and recruits may very well know what they're talking about. Those Bama and UGA multiple star kids were noticeably bigger and faster than their opponents and won 75% of the one on one encounters.
2) Michigan clearly looked intimidated after the first 10 minutes....game over.
3) Even with an obvious talent advantage the Bama and UGA coaching staffs put together brilliant game plans.
4) If there was a playoff, instead of this 3 game Invitational event, Bama and UGA would be heavy favorites to reach the finals.....although having one week to prepare for playoff games would be much more challenging than having a month to prepare for these games.
5) The P5's PSEG record for this post season finishes at 1-6 vs G5 teams, which is encouraging for the inclusion and opportunity arguments.

I don't think anyone would NOT have these teams favorites.
But I do think Georgia would have had a harder road to climb, for the fact they got blown out in their championship game
I would love to see other teams playing in a playoff environment...today's games could be so much more

1) I think you're 100% correct. These guys are using statistics today that just weren't around in the past. They still aren't 100% accurate because, there ARE kids... and, it's harder to measure heart. But, they're getting pretty darned good. Big and FAST still matter... a lot. I really felt sorry for those defensive lineman for Cincy. I was in their situation a few times.... it SUCKS! 2) 100%. 3) Agreed. I am more convinced now that, UGA game-planned NOT showing their best stuff against Bama in the SEC title game. They all counted on that the assumption that they were IN the CFP, win or lose. Why show your best stuff? You just get MORE of that with a big playoff field. Teams would start resting players and going vanilla in their schemes with 2 or 3 games left... SAVING themselves for the playoffs. 4) Interesting point about only having 1 week to prepare. Seems like that would FAVOR the schools with bigger, better staffs. But, it would be different. 5) The BEST teams in the G5 are clearly very competitive with bottom-tier, or mediocre middle tier P5 schools. That's not really news. The G5 had some very favorable matchups this year.

Thanks for the feedback, Bevo. #4 is one reason why I admire the teams that can negotiate the NCAA football championships.....only one week to prepare for each playoff round and each new opponent.
