I couldn't begin to tell you how many games I've watched - literally well over 1,000. Over the weekend, in the space of 23 hours I witnessed 4 of the greatest performances EVER by a Buckeye or Bengal. I'm sure many of you saw the Rose Bowl and the display put on by Jaxon Smith-Njigba and CJ Stroud - both set Ohio State records that may never be approached again. Then, on Sunday Joe Burrow and J'maar Chase rewrote the Bengals record book while punching a ticket to the NFL playoffs. It was amazing how both games mirrored each other - both teams fell behind by 2 TD's, both teams rallied to take leads only to have the opponent bounce back and tie the game -and then, both teams won their respective games by kicking last second FG's. Personally, I enjoy the 56-7 games far more but watching CJ, Smith-Njigba, Joe Burrow and Chase play at the highest level of their games was about as enjoyable as it gets.

I’m going to put my $10 pre-season ticket on the Bengals to win the Super Bowl in a safe deposit box ! 😱

I really enjoyed the Bengals game yesterday...those guys have something special - they believe in each other. Chase and Higgins are unbelievable. Boyd isn't bad, either. Boyd probably won't get to 1,000 yards receiving but he'll be close. Chase and Higgins are both over 1,000. But it starts with the QB and Burrow is fearless - he has such confidence in his receivers. They've taken a huge step this year. Pittsburgh has regressed, Cleveland will probably start over at QB and the Bengals blitzed Baltimore both games - maybe we have a changing of the guard in the AFC Central. The amazing thing is they could very well be 13-3 or 14-2 at this point. The only two games they really lost badly in were Cleveland and the Chargers. They lost to the Bears by a FG.... They lost to the Packers in OT by a FG and missed two kicks that would have won the game.... They lost to the Jets in their worst game of the year and had a shot at winning taken away by a horrible unnecessary roughness call late in the game... They lost to the 49ers in OT after taking a 3 point lead on the opening possession of OT. In that game, they got a taunting penalty called at the end of the first half that turned a turnover on downs into a TD. Of course there were a couple games where the breaks went their way but in previous years they would have folded after some of the heartbreaking losses - they didn't this year. If I'm the coaches, I would sit all the key players this week - no sense risking injury, especially given that's all the Browns really have to play for - to mess up the Bengals chances in the playoffs....

The Buckeye game was one of the most enjoyable games I have watched in a while. I love watching the offense click like it did. Also we have a new DC coming in that seems to have a very good track record. The future is bright for Buckeye Nation.
Regarding the Bengals, it is amazing how one player can change the entire team. Similar to what Brady did to TB. I think Joe Burrow could very well be on the same level. Regardless of the pressure Burrow is getting he is still making play after play after play. I do think the decision making on the 4th downs were idiotic but they did get the win.

I was playing AGAINST Chase in my fantasy finals this weekend. Oh well... I have Higgins on my team. He WON my Semi for me last week. I only need Chubb to out-score Najee Harris and D. Johnson by 45 tonight to win. So.... I'm saying I GOT a chance!

I do think the decision making on the 4th downs were idiotic but they did get the win. This is what I wrote about the 4th down decisions on another board.... "Taylor took bunch of heat several weeks ago when he went conservative in OT and played for a FG. Result? 49ers went down the field and scored a game-winning TD. If he kicks a FG on 4th down, Mahomes would have had around a minute to get in position for a FG or score a game winning TD. Heck, he damn near threw a 70 yard TD at the end of the first half. Granted, they lucked out by getting the 4th down penalties but kicking a FG on the initial 4th down would have given the Chiefs and Mahomes plenty of time to go down and score - especially with guys like Hill and Kelce at his disposal - the last several weeks TE's have killed the Bengals. So, Taylor learned from being conservative several weeks ago - he was fully aware of who was standing on the other sideline and he did what he felt put the Bengals in the best position to win the game - which they did. He and Joe Burrow basically said as much in the post-game interviews. I have no issues with the decisions he made." Funny, I was texting with a couple friends and when the Bengals took the ball with 6:01 to play I said, I'll take a 6 minute field goal drive right here - proved to be quite prophetic!

It was ballsy, but.... I liked it. It's HARD to win on defense in the NFL these days. Especially with flag happy zebras running around.

Exactly - Mahomes could just throw a ball up for grabs and a ref might be inclined to throw a flag - which is what they would have been hoping for. It's a spot foul so it could become a 50 yard penalty and set them up for a FG or TD.
