If you're not familiar with the acting nominees for this year's Oscars, below are shows that they also appeared which I would recommend....
Supporting Actress
Kirsten Dunst - Power of the Dog. In 1999 Dunst was in a movie called Drop Dead Gorgeous, a mockumentary about a teen beauty pageant in a small town in Minnesota. It was hysterical and featured some early performances by Amy Adams, Denise Richards, Allison Janey and Brittany Murphy. It also starred Kirstie Alley and Ellen Barkin.

Judi Dench - Belfast. Dench starred in Philomena back in 2013. It was about a woman who was raised in a orphanage ran by nuns, got pregnant and was forced to give up her baby for adoption. Years later she tries to find out what happened to her child. Based on a true story.
Ariana DeBose - West Side Story. I've only seen her in two other shows, one being the filmed version of Hamilton - she was in the ensemble - and the other was Prom. I thought Hamilton was great, Prom, not so much, but her role in Prom is much bigger.
Jessie Buckley - The Lost Daughter. Buckley was in the 2019 film, Judy, which won Rene Zellwegger an Oscar. She played Judy Garland's assistant.
Aunjanue Ellis - King Richard. She was in the mini-series, When They See Us, from 2019. About 5 black teens wrongly accused of a rape that occurred in Central Park - based on a true story. Great show, I think there were 4 episodes.
Supporting Actor
Ciaran Hinds - Belfast. He's been in a ton of movies, including the final 2 Harry Potter films, but he had a small role in the movie In Bruges and I'd recommend that one for sure.

Troy Kotsur - CODA. Kotsur is a deaf actor and I've only seen him in CODA but he steals the show as the father of the main character - worth watching!
Kodi Smit-McPhee - Power of the Dog. Smit-McPhee appeared as a child actor in 2010's, Let Me In - about a lonely, bullied boy who befriends an ageless vampire. This movie was a remake of a Swedish film called Let the Right One In. Kind of creepy but a pretty good horror film.
Jesse Plemmons - Power of the Dog. Plemons has also been in a lot of shows but I first noticed him as Todd in Breaking Bad which is an awesome series but 5 seasons long. For a movie, catch him in last year's, Judas and the Black Messiah.
JK Simmons - Being the Ricardos. I thought this was a fairly campy performance. Simmons is a great character actor and a HUGE Buckeye fan! He won the Oscar for Whiplash a few years ago playing a demanding professor at a music college but I'd recommend Burn After Reading from 2008. He plays a CIA supervisor and has some of the funniest scenes in the movie. This film was by the Coen Brothers.
Best Actress
Olivia Colman - The Lost Daughter. I first saw Colman in the British detective series, Broadchurch. Great show which co-starred David Tennant. It's 3 seasons long and worh the watch.

Nicole Kidman - Being the Ricardos. She's been in so many great movies but one you may not have seen was called To Die For from 1995. It's loosely based on the true story of a woman who seduces a teen boy and then encourages him to kill her husband. One of Kidman's best performances in my opinion.
Kristen Stewart - Spencer. I didn't see any of the Twilight movies. I did see 2009's, Adventureland which was mediocre at best.
Penelope Cruz - Parallel Mothers. Cruz does a lot of Spanish speaking roles. She won an Oscar for Vicky Christina Barcelona which I found quite boring. I'd recommend the series, The Assassination of Gianni Versace where she plays Donatella Versace (that's like Felicity Jones playing Ruth Bader Ginsburg - they're practically twins!) Anyway, it was a great show and the lead actor, Darren Criss, was very creepy as Andrew Cunanan.
Jessica Chastain - The Eyes of Tammy Faye. Chastain is usually spot on in her performances. I'd recommend Zero Dark Thirty, about the killing of Bin Laden, or Molly's Game which is based on a true story. About a former world class skier who winds up organizing high stakes poker games in LA and NYC.
Best Actor
Andrew Garfield - Tick, Tick....Boom! Garfield earned Academy Award nominations for The Social Network and Hacksaw Ridge, I'd recommend both films.

Benedict Cumberbatch - The Power of the Dog. He's been in the Doctor Strange series some of the Avenger movies but those films aren't my genre. 1917 from a couple years ago was very well done but his role wasn't very big. The Immitation Game, about Alan Touring who broke the Russian Code in WWII would be my highest recommendation but what happened to Touring later in life was pretty sad.
Will Smith - King Richard. Again, I'm not into films like Hancock and I Am Legend so I haven't seen many films with Smith. The Pursuit of Happyness is probably the only other movie I've seen him in and he did get an Oscar nomination for his performance. I think he's going to win this year.
Denzel Washington - The Tragedy of MacBeth. He's been nominated so many times and won twice. Since this is a football board, you can't go wrong with Remember the Titans.
Javier Bardem - Being the Ricardos. Surprised by this nomination. His most iconic role is in No Country for Old Men from 2007, even if you just watch for the coin flip scene.
