Last year there was a great deal of discussion as to who the Bengals should draft with the #4 pick. There were many who felt they should go with offensive lineman Penei Sewell to help shore up their protection for Joe Burrow. Others - and I think Burrow was in this camp - thought Jamaar Chase was the pick - Burrow and Chase played together at LSU and it would give the Bengals another outside weapon on offense. Of course we all know what happened - Chase was the pick, he had a phenomenal season winning offensive rookie of the year and was a major catalyst to the Bengals resurgence this year.
The Bengals came so close to winning the Super Bowl but I'm not sure if everyone realizes how close. On the final play, Chase had Jalen Ramsey burned - Ramsey was falling to the ground and Chase was wide open to the end zone - all they needed was for Burrow to get the ball off and the Bengals would most likely be Super Bowl champs. Unfortunately, the offensive line caved, specifically whoever was supposed to block Aaron Donald, and Burrow simply needed an extra second to get off the winning TD. Not sure if Penei Sewell could have blocked Donald - that's a huge task and quite frankly I'm not sure if anyone can - but the Bengals lack of line protection ultimately cost them a Super Bowl championship.
The ball is is the administration's hands now. They need to hold on to the key pieces who got them to the Super Bowl and spend some money to bring in some competent linemen - that's all they need. It will be tough to go back to the Super Bowl next year but I do believe they'll get back there within the next couple years. The AFC is stacked with, young, outstanding QB's and Joe Burrow is certainly one of them. Nows the time - don't be cheap and in the end you'll see a full stadium which will more than pay for the new players you'll bring in. Don't be a one trick pony!

The Bengals have one glaring weakness at OL and it certainly had a huge impact on the outcome of the game. I recall Burrow lobbying hard for Chase and from what I can tell it was the right decision. Chase and Burrow were very much in sync which likely helped him to get rid of the ball sooner. Also Burrow knew what was at stake with the selection and if he was good with in then it makes total sense. Next year if lobbies for anything other than an OL then I think he may have a few screws loose

Not many others are capable of beating Jalen Ramsey that badly.
It's chicken and egg. But, I think good linemen are more plentiful.

I told my BIL before the game I felt the Rams would win. The Bengals OL would be overwhelmed by the Rams Pass Rush. The Bengals fought hard but the OL could not hold out all night.
