I clearly have never had the same passion for College BB vs College FB, Looking at a few things I think I might be missing something. Here are some of the prices to attend a game this week (cheapest seats) NC Duke - $3500 Neb Wiscy $170 Purdue Indy $160 Texas Kansas $130 Iowa Illini $120 I can see Duke UNC being up there but these prices above are the absolute cheapest seats without fees??? That game is in super bowl territory. and add an extra %15 to get them.
I have season tickets to Dayton and sit in the upper arena. To get an equivalent seat would hit me up for about $120. The cheapest is about $80.
Just to do a reality check I decided to look to my Alma Mater. Tickets for the OSU vs Mich St game are down to $9. Now it all makes sense. Its an Ohio State thing.
Probably Bevo is the only one who can really explain the difference with UK hoops and Texas pigskins. Even when tOSU went to the finals it was a fun run but nothing like the gridiron.

A few years ago, just after Billy Gillespie was fired at UK, I considered buying season tickets at Rupp. Decent seats were ~ $120 per game. I thought that was too high. I mean, Lexington is more than an hour drive for me. Turned out, I made a BIG mistake. They hired Calipari, and ever since... individual tickets routinely sell for >$300. I could have sold every seat and made a great deal of money.
Kentucky people are NUTS for basketball. I guess, it's because of the successes they had with Rupp and Joe B. Hall. Between them, those guys coached for 55 years with great success. It's like, the ONLY think Kentucky is good at... other than racehorses and bourbon.
The State of Texas cares nothing about basketball. But, they'll always get behind a winner. Prices are high now just because the team has a pulse, and well... some people have TOO much money.

I wouldn’t pay .10 cents to see Duke play anyone.
But there is a huge difference in the size of the venues when comparing BB to FB - 10,000 seats compared to 110,000, you’ll have morons willing to pay that $3,500. I’m sure tickets to K’s final regular season game will be pricey. I just hope he doesn’t pull a Brett Favre when he doesn’t win it all.
