like Hollywood. I've been watching the Oscars since 1968 and despite some politicalized speeches, I do enjoy learning the winners.
Feature Documentary - I've only seen Summer of Soul and it was great - I'll say it wins.
Animated Feature - Encanto will win. I'd pick Luca or The Mitchells vs the Machines.
Original song - Encanto get's Lin Manuel-Miranda the final piece of his EGOT.
Soundtrack - Dune
Technical Awards - Look for Dune to sweep most of these.
Make-up - The Eye's of Tammy Faye - anyone who can make Jessica Chastain look like Tammy Faye Bakker deserves a prize.
Cinematography - The Power of the Dog
Adapted Screenplay - I think the Power of the Dog will win. I'd pick CODA. If The Lost Daughter wins I'm turning off the show.
Original Screenplay - I think Belfast will win and that's what I would pick. Licorice Pizza could surprise.
Best Director - Jane Campion for Power of the Dog which would make her a double winner.
Best Supporting Actress - I've seen all the nominees - this one's going to Ariana DeBose from West Side Story.
Best Supporting Actor - I've seen all these nominees, too - Troy Kotsar from CODA will and should win. I wouldn't mind if Ciaran Hinds from Belfast pulled the upset. Kodi Smit-McPhee of Power of the Dog was an early favorite but I think his campaign has cooled.
Best Actress - I've only seen 3 of the nominees but I think it's Jessica Chastain's year. Kidman, Cruz and Colman have Oscars, Stewart is a first time nominee.
Best Actor - Will Smith will win. Andrew Garfield and Benedict Cumberbatch were really good but they'll have to wait for another year.
Picture - It's a close race between CODA and Power of the Dog. I'd be surprised if any other picture was called. I preferred CODA and Belfast over Power of the Dog. I'll go with CODA in a mild upset. It's very rare that a film wins Best Picture without a Best Director nomination - I pick it to happen this year.
