I don't really know about the Hawaii-Vandy game...the game is at Hawaii, and Vanderbilt lost their opener last year to East Tennessee St. Hawaii doesn't exactly bring back a good roster though...
The Nebraska-Northwestern game is in Dublin. The returning rosters aren't real impressive. no idea really
good luck

Phil Steele likes Northwestern
This is Northwestern’s first ever game outside the US. Northwestern is 3-2 SU and ATS in the series the last 5 years but last year Nebraska led 35-7 at half and their 49 point win was their Las Vegas Total largest ever vs a Big Ten opponent. Last year Northwestern was one of the few teams in college football that was inexperienced as they had just 8 starters back while most teams had 80-90% of their roster. The Cats went from the Big Ten title game to a miserable 3-9 season where they were 152 ypg in Big Ten play. They should be a vastly improved team this year on both sides of the ball. Pat Fitzgerald is 6-3 ATS at neutral sites and 18-9 ATS as an AD. Nebraska was also 3-9 last year but were a much better team as they were +56 ypg in Big Ten play and had an amazing 7 Net Close losses. Nebraska is 9-18 ATS as a favorite the last 5 years. Six of their eight positions rank in my top units while Northwestern has just two.
Northwestern will have much improved QB play with Hilinski having a full year with the team and has a 1,000 yard rusher in Evan Hull and he is running behind what could be Fitzgeralds’s top offensive line in his 17 years. Nebraska is moving to more of a pass offense led by Texas transfer Casey Thompson but it may take a little while for the offense to click.
Last years result should have a well motivated Northwestern to keep this one much closer and an upset would not even surprise me.

I was leaning Nebraska's way but I also hear that NW has been pretty much up on even years and down on odd years. Betting week 0 probably not a good idea.

I trust Steele's analysis more than just about anyone. And, this was on his FREE, pre-season newsletter. If he EVER wanted to be right, it'd be on this one.

I picked Northwestern but I also picked Iowa to beat Michigan in the BIG championship last year and the Hawkeyes lost by 39.

I've always felt Pat Fitzgerald was a great person and one of the best 'most with the least' football coaches of today. Northwestern has some semblance of 'standards'., so nice going coach Fitzgerald and the Wildcats.
