Had a great trip - Oktoberfest is one of the best events I’ve even attended and the Passion Play is an event everyone should witness, just a stunning production put on entirely by the tiny town of Obberommergau.
One comment about ESPN - last night the scroll about the Ohio State game said…Rutgers led 7-0 for first lead ever against Ohio State and CJ Stroud had his worst stat line as a starter (The TD happened after OSU fumbled a punt on the 15 yard line). No mention that Miyan Williams rushed for 190 yards (almost 10 yards a carry) and 5 TD’s which is an Ohio State record and they’ve been playing football for well over 100 years. But they don’t have an agenda against the Big Ten…

Been to both... you're absolutely right. My German co-workers tell me Oktoberfest this year was nowhere near as big as previous years. But, they were very glad to have it back.

Italy and Germany for Oktober fest seem to lead the list of places at the moment. It is always best to limit your consumption of ESPN to game content only. Unfortunately those idiots have way way to much influence on the CFP committee. They pretty much have 2 SEC teams penciled in already. How can OSU go from 2 to 3 when they beat ND but double digits in a game that was pretty much decided when the forth quarter started. Then Bama has a come from behind win in the waning seconds against a team that is no longer ranked and stay ahead of Ohio State Then UGA just had a game with Kent St that was a 10 point game in Q4 and barely squeaks by a bad Mizzou team and somehow both stay ahead of OSU who has been dominate since the opening game. Oh wait I forget as ESPN pointed they were trailing a bad 3 - 1 Rutgers team and Stroud was way off his game. Could not hit the 200 yard passing mark and throwing a horrible pick.

Great points there, AJ, regarding ESPN and the Dr. Pepper Invitational. If some other network had the primary SEC contract ESPN's non 'game content' dribble would be ENTIRELY different .

Give some consideration to Berlin. We thoroughly enjoyed the city...we felt safe and it was easy to navigate around. Berliners were very friendly and helpful.

You need to calibrate your "Eye Test".... then, it will all become clearer to you!

Isn't the passion play only once every ten years?

Isn't the passion play only once every ten years? Since the 1600’s the little town of Oberammergau has been performing the Passion Play every 10 years after they prayed that God would end a plague that hit the town. They’ve typically performed the play - with only residents of Oberammergau in the cast, choir and orchestra on years ending in 10 (10,20,30 etc) but since the pandemic cancelled the play in 2020 they performed it this year. We planned to see it in 2020 and rescheduled the trip for this year. It was spectacular - one of the best productions I’ve ever witnessed.
