1. Tennessee 2. Georgia 3. Ohio State 4. Clemson 5. Michigan 6. Alabama 7. TCU
They’ll talk about strength of schedule and best wins. Clemson will be boosted by some top 25 wins that I believe you could throw about 30 teams into a hat and pull them out for rankings past 9 or 10. Just my guess. Michigan’s preconference schedule will knock them down a spot or 2.

You pretty much nailed it.
I predicted the cte. would put CLemson at 7 and TCU at 4.
They did hold Michigans OOC schedule against them, but, on balance, I'm not sure they should have.
Tenn: Ball state, Pitt, Akron Georgia: Oregon, Samford, SC, Kent state OSU: ND 🤢 Arkansas state, Toledo Clemson: Furman, Louisiana, ND, SC
See where this is going? You can’t talk non con schedule when it’s everyone, and only hold Michigan accountable.

CFP committee chair Boo Corrigan, asked again why Clemson is ahead of Michigan, says Clemson is 5-0 against teams above .500, while Michigan is 2-0 in such games.

Not much difference between 2 and 3 - just the color of the jersey you wear.
ND is interesting. They play fairly decent defense but offensively they've had issues. They have solid recruits - not sure they're on the level of some of the UConns, Arkansas States, Furmans and Kent States of the world. At one point Michigans 3 non con opponents were listed in the bottom 10 - that's pretty bad. The Clemson/ND game will be interesting given it's in South Bend although the Irish have already stunk up the place against Marshall and Stanford. At the same time they went to UNC and Syracuse and had impressive wins.
I do believe the committee manipulates their rankings to justify the order of their top teams.

You forgot mighty FCS Tennessee -Martin on Tennessee's OOC schedule I didn't see any of the show or justification but they can literally pick any 1 statistic to promote one team over another and it can change from week to week. When stats don't work just throw in the eye test. The one thing that makes absolutely no sense is Alabama ahead of TCU. The only blemish I see with TCU is an 8 point win over a mediocre SMU team early on. They have 2 wins over top 20 teams. Bama's resume includes 1 loss and a narrow win over Texas who is only ranked in the Committee poll and not ranked elsewhere. They also have a narrow win against a very bad aTm team. In both the narrow wins they had to come from behind inthe 4th quarter. I would have loved to here the justification for that one.

Just saw the committee justification for Bama...
"We're looking for a balanced team, offense and defense, and [TCU] has gotten behind in some games. They've been able to come back and win those games. But when you look at Alabama -- in the wins against Mississippi State, at Arkansas, at Texas and obviously the three-point loss at Tennessee -- as a committee, we decided to go Alabama No. 6 and TCU No. 7," explained Corrigan.
TCU did come from behind against a ranked Okie St. The only other time they trailed in the second half was for about one minute in the third quarter against Kansas.
Per Jerry Palm "The primary surprise to most atop the rankings is the Crimson Tide, whose signature win through eight games is a one-point victory over current No. 24 Texas. They are ahead of undefeated TCU, which has victories over No. 13 Kansas State and No. 18 Oklahoma State without a loss on its resume"
Clearly the eye test is by far more important than actual results.
