You and Hero should try to get on with the payroll at ESPN as you have clearly swallowed the kool-ait Here is a look at both power house of their conferences tOSU vs BAMA schedule. Please explain to me where BAMA is any better than tOSU. The only thing to back you claim is that you buy the statement that the BIG is a cakewalk. Just ask Auburn what it is like when you invite a BIG team to your stadium. tOSU BAMA Michigan 12-0 Tennessee 10 - 2@ Penn State 10-2 @lsu 9 - 3Notre Dame 8-4 Texas 8 - 4 @ Maryland 7-5 @ole Miss 8 - 4Iowa 7-5 Miss St 8 - 4Wisconsin 6-6 @arky 6 -6 @ Michigan St. 5-7 Auburn 5 - 7 Rutgers 4-8 TAM 5 - 7 Indiana 4-8 Vandy 5 - 7 @ Northwestern 1-11 Arkansas State 3-9 Utah St 6 -6 Toledo 7-5 ULM 4 - 8 No FCS Teams Austin Peay 7 -4 conference strength changes ever year...
this year, I would argue the Big XII, SEC, and PAC 12 are tops, and the Big 10 and ACC are awful
But by your own example, Alabama has a tougher schedule, playing @tennessee, @texas, @lsu, @ole Miss, and Miss St. That stretch which is primarily on the road is tougher than anything the Big 10 has to offer. Alabama went 3-2 and nearly lost to Texas
You keep citing the Penn State-Auburn game, but Auburn has sucked for two years straight...they fired their head coach
we'll see how the bowls and playoff play out, but don't be surprised if Michigan gets blown out in the playoff and the Big 10 gets mauled in the bowls
You are using Ole Miss and Miss St as quality wins. Ole Miss had one win against a P5 team with a winning record which was 7 - 5 Kentucky Miss St had one win against a team with a winning record which was Ole Miss Your perception and how teams actually performed this season are not in sync

I thought they looked unprepared to face the adversity they faced yesterday. What did you think? No Good

I thought they looked unprepared to face the adversity they faced yesterday. What did you think? No I think they got their BUTTS KICKED all over the field. I'm not sure MORE butt kicking, earlier, would have made any difference. Few things are more humiliating than being RUN OVER, on your home field. Football hasn't changed in 100 years. If you can't stop the run, you cannot win. OSU couldn't. Game over.

Well tOSU pretty much did stop the run until the final 5 minutes. 10 yds in the first half. 2 long runs for 150+ yards in the last 5 minutes. the first 55 minutes ttun had roughly 100 yards. Both teams had roughly 500 yards of offense. The game wasn't sealed until about 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter. tOSU just gave up way too many big plays. I attiribute that to ttun QB using his legs to scramble and keep plays alive and the tOSU DB's got out of position. It was the two long passing plays that did tOSU in. Also Strouds inability to run and find receivers that were open also played a big part.

Until the last 5 minutes….
You mean, when it REALLY mattered?
OSU was physically dominated

Until the last 5 minutes…. You mean, when it REALLY mattered? OSU was physically dominated Clearly I misspoke. I must have drank to much during the game and did not recognize how we were dominated in the trenches. In the first half ttun OL simply just blew our D Line off the ball. They gained almost a yard per carry as the reached double digits with 10 yards by half time. In the second half ttuns OL flex their muscle again in the first 25 minutes of the half. With 5 minutes to go in the game ttun was averaging over 2 yards per carry with 71 yards on 31 attempts. On the other side of the ball ttun physically dominated to OSU as well. Their DL was suffocating and during the same time span tOSU was only able to rush for 143 on 29 carries. Without a doubt ttun dominated my beloved Buckeyes all day long.

I know when I'm licked. You make a compelling argument. I guess the TTUN just got lucky. I missed much of the first half. By the time I started watching, UM seemed to have more energy. Maybe, that's what I was seeing?

I still don't have the desire to watch this one again but Stroud did not see a few wide open receivers which was out of characteristic for him. The other thing that stood out was Stroud not being more decisive when running the ball. He had had several opportunities to pull up the ball and run to make a big play. ttun QB on the other hand was the difference maker. He did far better making decisions to run the ball. The absolute killer was both long passing TD came when the QB was under enormous pressure and scrambled out of it. Our DB's just let the wide outs get behind them completely uncovered. Once I get it but twice? It was a painful painful day. Both in the stadium and in the pocket book.

Getting back to your question. I don't think that tOSU was not prepared. We just had some critical miss tackles and blown coverages that ttun took advantage of that were complete game changers. On the offensive side Stroud did throw for 350 so I can't be too critical on the open targets that he didn't see. IMO the thing that really hurt us the most was Stroud not taking advantage of the run when he had open space in front of him.
