I’ve been doing really well on football bets on this trip. I’m not blowing it on Texas tonight. This looks like a terrible matchup for the Horns.
I’ll be rooting for my Horns. But I wouldn’t bet a nickel in them.
In fact, I think I’m going to run a 3-team parlay with Minn, FSU, and Wash. Maybe Texas wins by less than 3.5 points ?
Overs look good in the two early games too. I don’t expect to see much defense. I think Texas is going to really struggle… on offense, and defense.

I think Minny FSU look good. Other games I like are Clemson and Iowa.

I lost Minny on that late TD, but I had the over.. so it pushed
And I just bet the over in the first two games with my Wash parlay

Meanwhile, Craps at The D, downtown was awesome! A guy wearing a disabled Vet cap and a Detroit Lions pullover rolled the dice for 45 minutes. I won 2 grand on his roll. Just, unreal. He hit a hard 10, FOUR times in a row. I collected on the first, then parlayed a $5 bet, twice. 🎉
I really don’t care about my $50 football bets now. 😀

Well. The game went just about the way I thought. I think the outcome would have been different with Bijan, Roschon and Overshown playing …. But, they weren’t.
This is the first time I’ve ever bet against my team. 😢.
I did wear my orange, and actively cheered for them in the sports book.
But then, I sadly stood in the payout line. 🤷🏻

A 'what if' game for the Horns. What if beautifully thrown TD passes weren't dropped ? That’s a microcosm of the entire season for Texas: What if? What if Ewers played the entire game against Bama, and we started the season with a huge win? What if a few bounces here and there had changed, and we made the B12 title game ? Things look better than last year… so on that, I’ll take some solace. But, THIS was a year when Longhorn faithful were expecting more. |
