Praying for recovery, for Damar Havlin...
I will go to sleep tonight praying for this 24 yr old man.

Never seen anything like it on a football field, very scary. Something similar did happen to my brother in law and he was never the same - he actually passed away 3 days before Christmas after living the last 3+ years of his life in a wheel chair, unable to talk, eat, go to the restroom. I just pray that they got this kids heart going in time so it didn’t do serious damage to his brain. Life is fragile.

It is a crazy situation. Good work by the first responders. One serious motivation for me to retire a bit earlier was a strong desire to not be forced to deal with a cardiac arrest.

Absolutely horrible situation. The fact that we are getting almost no intel on this makes me think that the long term prognosis is not going to be good.

I heard one report this morning that said he was on a ventilator… ie: not self breathing. I’m no doctor, but that doesn’t sound good.
Hopefully, his youth and great health will give him the ability to recover.
The 16 year old son of my best friend here was at the game last night. What a sad thing to see.
Back in 1997, something similar happened in 1997, when Reggie Brown was injured in a Lions-Eagles game.
They resumed that game after the ambulance left. Now, it seem as if no one is allowed to even consider finishing this game, ever?? I know it’s hard to think about, but…. That game was going to be huge in the conference standings. And, as trivial as it seems, lots of fantasy leagues (like mine) had Finals this weekend. What are we supposed to do now? The game is not finished?

I heard this morning that the ventilator is only at 50% now so that’s a sign. As I said earlier I just hope his brain wasn’t deprived of oxygen too long.
I was at the game when Ryan Shazier was seriously injured - seeing that on the field just takes the wind out of you. It’s a violent game and that’s why I think football players, more than any other sport, earn every cent they make.

The college reunion turned very somber very quickly.

Imagine the brutality of college football in the early 20th century. Between 1904 and 1907 there were 59 fatalities from game injuries........not much protective equipment. Lot's of cracked skulls.
