Thought I’d check in - we finished day 15 of our 39 day ride across the country. We’ll be riding from Van Horn, Texas to Marfa, Texas today. We’ve completed 1100 miles so far. Not much in western Texas so far and I don’t expect we’ll see much on the way to Marfa. We do need to find a bike shop as we’ve had more than our share of flat tires so we need some inner tubes! Highlight so far? The view from Emory Pass, spectacular! Lowlight? Riding 8 miles on I-10 yesterday with semis whizzing by at 80+ MPH - very terrifying.
We’ll be halfway in 4 days and in Austin a week from tomorrow. Just gotta keep pedaling!

West Texas is about as blank as it gets. You’re getting closer to civilization though. The scenery will dramatically change soon!
