Earlier this year, after the NFL draft, I said this about C J Stroud:
"I might be wrong, it's hard to be sure with NFL-bound QB's... but, I don't see Stroud as being good enough to lift a BAD team"
Well... I'm happy to say now that I might well have been wrong. So far, he's played VERY well for the Texans. And, maybe more importantly, he's been a very classy, mature-sounding young man in his interviews. After what the City of Houston went through with Watson, I can't overstate how important that is for the fan base.
I do still think David Mills was 'adequate', as a QB... especially with other team needs filled. But, CJ Stroud is looking to be an EXCELLENT fit for the team, and for the city so far.
I'm pulling for him!

He was a class act his stay at tOSU. From all the QB's we have had over the years, I don't recall one being more accurate than he was. His only weakness is not taking the run when it was given to him. That being said, this issues looked to be fixed un the UGA game.

In the 2 years he was OSU's QB I don't ever recall him having a horrible game. He had a few average games but even in the losses to UM and Oregon, he put up good numbers - the defense just couldn't get stops when needed. He's a humble kid and I don't think he'll have to try 66 massage therapists until he finds a good one. He represented Ohio State with class and I hope he has a great career in the NFL.

In the game today, maybe every day? Character matters a LOT. Houston WANTS to embrace this kid. He's saying ALL the right things. And, playing well.
